This means the paid posters have little involvement in making the forum grow. I remember two years ago during Euro 08 there were 2 threads in the soccer forum and now the soccer forum is one of the busiest forums. It is my believe that if you invest more in giving the posters what they want and eliminate the paid posters the growth will be even faster. One of the things you can do is make soccer available in sbrpicks.com for both contests offered by SBR and books and for contests between posters. With the Word Cup in only 5 months from now this needs to be in place ASAP because you are going to miss a lot of new posters. Offer more soccer contests if your goal is to expand globally. Paid posters will not grow the forum but if you attract sports fans and gamblers they will stay here for a long time as long as you offer them contests and all the other tools SBR offers. Offer more prizes to posters and fire all the paid posters so the money goes to all the posters who support the forum.
Pavy, why is it always about...you? Soccer? Are you serious? The vast majority of people who care about soccer don't speak English anyway, so they ain't comin' to Players Talk. You know who likes soccer around here? Yup...YOU! I'm not going to watch anyone chase a ball for 3 hours and then piss myself when someone finally, mercifully scores. You know why people go to Players Talk? Because it's a soap opera for guys who like the action. You think people want to read thread after thread about why someone thinks the Pistons, the Cavs, the Celtics or any other team is going to cover a meaningless game in the middle of February? My eyes are starting to close just thinking about that. No, we like to watch the freaks. And dammit, this place is a freak show. The name of this forum is Players Talk. Don't you think it's ironic that most of the threads are about anything but sports? Because that's what interests people. If SBR is paying posters then let them. If I want to make money, I'm getting down on a game I like. I'm not going to go to SBR so I can win a contest and they can send me a check for $50. Now get off your high horse and stop being such a downer all the time.

Soccer is not offered on sbrpicks. All sports major sports and even tennis are offered on sbrpicks. Soccer is not offered on sbrpicks. Why is it so hard to include soccer?

There was a poll I did a few months back. 37 people voted and 35 were in favor. I will say if 95% of the posters agree it's not just me who wants it.

Okay so what do you want to include in soccer? What leagues do you want cause you know as good as i do that most people making money betting soccer arent betting the big leagues but betting the obscure leagues. Do you really think they can make sbr picks have belgian leagues? Tell me what leagues should be included. Soccer has so many cups and leagues that most here have no clue what its all about. We know about the league cups and league games but i dont think it would attract much interest to be honest and im not sure the time spent putting it in would be worth the reward for sbr techs.

I think Swinging Johnson was talking about 95% of the time, when you act like a ****ing 87-year-old grandma, not the 5% of the time when you write some nice posts and post sharp plays. He only gave the wrong example to prove a very valid point:

The sportsbook offers the major leagues. Why can start with the leagues offered in the sportsbook and then add more leagues later. I don't understand why the sportsbook offers soccer but you can start contests in sbrpicks with other posters because soccer is not included.

Alright Pavy....you and a few others. My esteemed colleague John Anthony and I will agree to disagree on this point. Your poll is inherently flawed. Anyone who does want soccer will flock to your poll and click yes. However, the vast majority of posters didn't even register because they have no interest. I don't think you'll find anyone "opposed" but most people just don't care. Fine. SBR should include soccer. But that doesn't mitigate the topic at hand. You're always complaining about something. Once they get soccer, then your quest will begin anew to find other faults. You're like an old lady Pavy. I want you to post something good about someone or something each and everyday. Then, slowly but surely, we'll see that happy little boy we used to know.

We are talking about a fun contest here at sbrpicks betting points. I can live with bad lines as long as all contestants use the same bad lines. I shop for good lines when I play with money.

35 people voted yes. Are you saying that 35 people are a minority here and should be completely ignored? Do a tennis poll or a NASCAR poll and see how many they say yes and how many say no.

I will bet that if you poll posters about a potential tennis contest, the result would be overwhelming; a lot of tennis fans out there.

Soccer is the MOST watched sports in the whole world, by far. I'm no estimating or guessing here, it's numbers I've seen during my work in the media.

So...whether they vote, post or don't say shit about it - doesn't matter. Soccer fanatics are out there and gambling in bunches, why not satisfy their needs if you can (benefit from it too!)?

Interesting that you fell able to judge what the "majority" of people want.

Soccer is the most watched and bet on sport on the planet period. Obviously the current demographic of this board and the world are not the same but it is surely not an unreasonable assumption that a fairly large cross section here do have an interest and that if SBR did more (including SBR picks) on the soccer front they would be able to generate additional traffic.

Personally I have little interest in college students, who appear to to be able to shoot 50% from free thows, running up and down a court for two hours, in between scheduled TV commercial breaks. I don´t see fit to complain about CBB being included in contests though.

Many people follow soccer once football is over and I don't see what the problem is with having people who like to bet on it have their contests on sbrpicks.

SBR has solid cappers in the football & basketball forums that share info, which is what it's all about. The contests create competetiveness amongst the posters & I think helps with handicapping skills. And the points is the gravy! Where else can you be an active member & participate & get rewards? I mean I have over $150 in a bookmaker acct now from the $50 cash play. The store has some nice things & it's all free really, you get points for winning contests, winning plays in the pointbook, you know, handicapping & winning ballgames which is what we should all be here to get better at. Having fun is great and I make alot of stupid threads all in fun, but there's no need in arguing & stirring shi* between one another all the time. This is the best handicapping forum on the web & lets all contribute to make it better.

Well I'm fairly new here but I enjoy the forums immensely and some trail some posters here for picks and analysis (lakerboy, rochester titans, NFL guru etc etc). All have their ups and downs depending on the time of year. Of course, I don't really read players talk or the unmoderated areas if that is what some of you are referring too.

Your persistent insistence on soccer is commendable.especially with the World Cup on the horizon in June from South Africa at roughly 7am, 11am and 2pm eastern..great idea
I like this schedule. I can watch a game before I go to work and a game at lunch on weekdays.

honestly how can you not love what sbr has done over the past six months , just that alone will keep the avg poster around just to see what is coming in the future months, It really can be profitable coming to sbr.

I'll have an answer on soccer as soon as Bill will unblock me . We do not have the same soccer lineup as Bookmaker?? We should.

Keep the king here, he will eventually drag the board down. SBR John if your actually going to do something, ban the king, numbers will be way up.
