I may have been one of the few who started posting again when mofome left. During his 6 month of terror I averaged 1 post per day. If there was one person knowing how to kill a forum it was him.

These new guys have no idea what "useless" threads are. Mofome won that hands down. It was almost unbelievable. There was shit like "what is your favoite color?" and there would be 10 of them at a time on the first page of PT. Unfukkingreal.

John I really love the graph you have just posted because it proved my point that is the posters who make the growth. You have had paid posters for the last 2 years, you and I know who they are and there is no need to deny it. The growth has started in the last 6 months. This means the paid posters have little involvement in making the forum grow. I remember two years ago during Euro 08 there were 2 threads in the soccer forum and now the soccer forum is one of the busiest forums. It is my believe that if you invest more in giving the posters what they want and eliminate the paid posters the growth will be even faster. One of the things you can do is make soccer available in sbrpicks.com for both contests offered by SBR and books and for contests between posters. With the Word Cup in only 5 months from now this needs to be in place ASAP because you are going to miss a lot of new posters. Offer more soccer contests if your goal is to expand globally. Paid posters will not grow the forum but if you attract sports fans and gamblers they will stay here for a long time as long as you offer them contests and all the other tools SBR offers. Offer more prizes to posters and fire all the paid posters so the money goes to all the posters who support the forum.

No argument from me. We dont have paid posters. I think instead of saying paid posters you mean JJ Gold. JJ could have a job here anytime and he has been paid for helping us and has done incredible work. If you think someone else is paid to post you are just 100% wrong.

It was this time last year when eog hired about 20 of our posters. It failed. Now they have KingRev and others and they are just coma inducing. We invest in content and the content brings the posters. The traffic and content are all real. The paid poster thing is the part thats not. But I wont stand in the way of a good conspiracy theory if its entertaining.

There is some truth to that. It has a large following. Actually all the sub forums kind of turned into a stand alone community all to themselves. Before it was just guys from Players Talk who would also stop by. Not so anymore. They all have their hardcore guys just like Players talk has its core and community. Pretty cool actually.

Back when that forum was created it was bucked soo hard. I think there was a petition going around asking if we should get rid of it. Slow at first but a very solid group of guys there. It's a lot of work for Willie but he does a great job.

I mean I have over $150 in a bookmaker acct now from the $50 cash play. The store has some nice things & it's all free really, you get points for winning contests, winning plays in the pointbook, you know, handicapping & winning ballgames which is what we should all be here to get better at. Having fun is great and I make alot of stupid threads all in fun, but there's no need in arguing & stirring shi* between one another all the time. This is the best handicapping forum on the web & lets all contribute to make it better.

Paver is a fukkin idiot, I was never paid to post here. Heck I do not even have to post. I always have had huge posting number at every forum I dominated and very little of it at RX or EOG I was paid.

If you think getting $400 a month to make lots of posts is appealing you should just end it or live in a shelter as you are a major failure in life.
