3) (I'd add) the Points system was in play.

One comment on the Points system. Nobody was getting RICH off the points system. But it was nice. Could buy yourself a hamburger. And it was nice for giving gifts, too.

You could eat a couple pizzas every week back then without doing much anything. Just log in and win points in contests or poker. The downfall was a handful of poker players cheated by rolling the points over with collusion. Then they had to take it away from the 99% who played fair for fun. Also some shenanigans with collussion on BTP where players shared plays.

Buying 5dimes cash for points was a big deal.

After that being able to buy btc was still pretty good. But after the sbr book/casino shut down and points went away that was it. The contests are still great however.
