#107If Alabama wins and in my opinion, that's a big IF, then Alabama earns the right to get in and should be the number 4 team (can't see them leapfrogging any other team from where they sit now at #8)
Michigan would be #1 with a win setting up Michigan vs. Alabama for round one.
Louisville will be at FSU and knock FSU out.
Texas beats Oklahoma St.
Washington is in already and is probably the #3 seed.
The interesting question becomes the computer model that has Georgia so far ahead it doesn't appear likely they can fall out of the playoffs with a loss which means Texas gets left out.
So, Bama wins and it's:
Michigan
Georgia
Washington
Alabama
If Georgia wins (this is the most likely scenario in my opinion)
Georgia
Michigan
Texas
Washington.
The Georgia/Alabama game is the most important game today for the playoff format.Comment -

#108If Bama wins they need help getting in, they’d only move up 3 spots. Need Texas, FSU, or Michigan to lose. Personally I believe this year regresses back to only one ranked upset. Texas +125 to make CFP looks to be alive and well.Comment -

#109The nightmare scenario for the committee is Bama wins, Michigan wins, Florida State wins and Texas wins.
In that scenario, I can see Georgia being left out. Bama, Michigan and FSU for sure, and last spot Georgia/Texas, and they take Texas because they beat Alabama.
There is no way Bama wins the SEC title and does not get in. That is insane.
Committee pulling hard for Louisville to fix most of the problems. If FSU and Bama loses, it's Georgia, Michigan, Washington, Texas. Easy.Comment -

#110So Bama wins the SEC and everyone else win, they don't get in? That will never happen. Personally I do believe FSU loses, and Georgia wins…but theoretically yes Bama winning, they would leap the dawgs and if all the other power five ranked teams win both would be left out, I know that’s not a popular opinion, but how do you remove FSU undefeated? Or Texas who won head to head?Comment -

If Bama wins today, I would not be surprised if they got in over Texas due to their reputation.Comment -

#114Fair enough, not arguing Bama’s reputation. While Lou Holtz’s ND team was at home for their so called game of the century and dominated most of the game. FSU did drive the ball down to the Irish 14 and had ball batted away to secure the 7 point victory at home. I would believe Bama’s 10 point loss at home, not on the road and a lackluster showing of Both Bama and Georgia last week would be on the committee’s minds, but who know…Texas mauled TCU early and then let them back door the bettors. Alabama has a razor thin edge in SOS.Originally posted by JAKEPEAVY21FSU won the National Championship over Notre Dame when both had 1 loss and ND beat them head to head a few decades ago....

#116Bama needs to win convincingly to get in the playoff. No way they get in the playoff with a last second hail mary play. IMHO Georgia isn't the juggernaut from years past. But I can see them losing a squeaker to Bama and still getting in.Comment -

Both FSU and the team they beat for Bobby Bowden's first national title -- Nebraska under Tom Osborne.Comment -

#134You let Alabama in, then you have to let Texas in. They beat Alabama by double digits in Tuscaloosa. Florida State is a victim of their weak conference which they probably wouldn't have been undefeated anyway without that easy schedule. It will probably give the Seminoles more inspiration to get out of the ACC.Comment -

#139I was just telling my buddy and former roommate on messenger that is exactly what is wrong the system right now. too much prejudice, biased, and preferential treatment for the SEC! Bulldogs played a shitty schedule! they should get treated the same way as most other teams do. This year's SEC championship game was a basically a de-facto elimination playoff game.Originally posted by asiagamblerHard to say. I think committee will put Georgia inComment -

Washington
FSU
Texas
Michigan
It doesn't matter what you guys think of Florida State, they've earned the right to lose to an opponent on the field and not merely in the minds of a bunch of suits.Comment
