    If Georgia wins, that's #3

If FSU wins, it's between them and Texas if they win, in my opinion

If Bama beats Georgia then it's a scramble for 2 spots and it gets wild

    Am I missing anything???
    Nope.

If Alabama wins and in my opinion, that's a big IF, then Alabama earns the right to get in and should be the number 4 team (can't see them leapfrogging any other team from where they sit now at #8)

Michigan would be #1 with a win setting up Michigan vs. Alabama for round one.

Louisville will be at FSU and knock FSU out.

      Texas beats Oklahoma St.

Washington is in already and is probably the #3 seed.

The interesting question becomes the computer model that has Georgia so far ahead it doesn't appear likely they can fall out of the playoffs with a loss which means Texas gets left out.

      So, Bama wins and it's:

      Michigan
      Georgia
      Washington
      Alabama

If Georgia wins (this is the most likely scenario in my opinion)
      Georgia
      Michigan
      Texas
      Washington.

The Georgia/Alabama game is the most important game today for the playoff format.

If Bama wins they need help getting in, they’d only move up 3 spots. Need Texas, FSU, or Michigan to lose. Personally I believe this year regresses back to only one ranked upset. Texas +125 to make CFP looks to be alive and well.

The nightmare scenario for the committee is Bama wins, Michigan wins, Florida State wins and Texas wins.

In that scenario, I can see Georgia being left out. Bama, Michigan and FSU for sure, and last spot Georgia/Texas, and they take Texas because they beat Alabama.

There is no way Bama wins the SEC title and does not get in. That is insane.

Committee pulling hard for Louisville to fix most of the problems. If FSU and Bama loses, it's Georgia, Michigan, Washington, Texas. Easy.

So Bama wins the SEC and everyone else win, they don't get in? That will never happen. In that case, you'd need to leave Georgia out, too, right?

So you're talking Michigan, Wash., Texas and Florida State, and no SEC team?

The committee has stated an undefeated power 5 team that wins their conference champ has never been left out, nor will they.

Personally I do believe FSU loses, and Georgia wins…but theoretically yes Bama winning, they would leap the dawgs and if all the other power five ranked teams win both would be left out, I know that’s not a popular opinion, but how do you remove FSU undefeated? Or Texas who won head to head?

I really hope FSU loses today, who wants to see them get routed with a backup QB?

They are not close to the same team without Travis.

FSU won the National Championship over Notre Dame when both had 1 loss and ND beat them head to head a few decades ago....

If Bama wins today, I would not be surprised if they got in over Texas due to their reputation.

Fair enough, not arguing Bama’s reputation. While Lou Holtz’s ND team was at home for their so called game of the century and dominated most of the game. FSU did drive the ball down to the Irish 14 and had ball batted away to secure the 7 point victory at home. I would believe Bama’s 10 point loss at home, not on the road and a lackluster showing of Both Bama and Georgia last week would be on the committee’s minds, but who know…Texas mauled TCU early and then let them back door the bettors. Alabama has a razor thin edge in SOS.

I agree with you just playing devil's advocate and it has indeed happened before and it would not shock me if they put Bama in, fair or not.

Bama needs to win convincingly to get in the playoff. No way they get in the playoff with a last second hail mary play. IMHO Georgia isn't the juggernaut from years past. But I can see them losing a squeaker to Bama and still getting in.

Yup I agree. I remember that ND game and ND was clearly the better team. But then had a complete letdown the following week.

it was 1993. ND clearly better? they won by 7 in South Bend over FSU.

You know who was better at season's end than ND?

Both FSU and the team they beat for Bobby Bowden's first national title -- Nebraska under Tom Osborne.

Yes let's just wait and see what happens

If we are being honest and fair about it, then Georgia should be eliminated. who in the hell did they beat? they played a garbage schedule as do most SEC teams.

Florida State should only get in if they win and Michigan loses. Texas and Alabama both earned their bids today. The Seminoles would be throwing away a bid for a more competitive team.

You let Alabama in, then you have to let Texas in. They beat Alabama by double digits in Tuscaloosa. Florida State is a victim of their weak conference which they probably wouldn't have been undefeated anyway without that easy schedule. It will probably give the Seminoles more inspiration to get out of the ACC.
