If they knew hand-held automatic pistols, assault weapons and machine guns would be invented in the near future they would have thought twice about second amendment. The bear arms they thought was the front loader pistol and the sword so a man can defend his family or property. They did not intend weapons to be so advanced that a single person can cause carnage to thousands.

Good point about overkill with an army of weapons. I mean, if you have to fire more than about 15 rounds you are likely/probably a dead duck anyhow. I own a .22 and 2 9's.

I live in Texas close to where vegasdave is now (don't piss me off dave! LOL.. j/k).. we are allowed to get permits pretty easily to get guns and carry them consealed here.. and if we are traveling more than 3 counties (aka parishes in some other states), we don't need a permit.. just load it up and put her in the car.. if a cop asks, you say "3 county rule"..

our crime rate and "kill" rate (though most think we kill too many with the electric chair) is pretty low.. rarely do people get shot in my town.. and the bigger citys do experience it, but per capita, it is waay low.. why?
