    Lots of betting in Caddyshack...

"I'll bet you a hundred bucks you slice it into the woods."
"Fifty bucks the Smails kid picks his nose."
"Fiftt bucks more says he eats it."

        Awesome movie.

It makes a good point, too: if you are doing something, even something illegal, be 100% about it. Joe was 100% about his.

I never really understood the fascination poker players have with Rounders. KGB is one of the greatest players around who happens to have the most obvious tell in the poker world? Damon's knowledge of his own abilities is based on getting Johnny Chan to lay down one hand? Ridiculous.

I recall another scene that I believe has Damon not laying down KK and being pissed at himself for not realizing he was up against AA. Yeah poker pro's lay down KK all the time, right. (If im remembering this incorrectly please disregard.)

The movie has its moments but the poker is definitely not realisitic

EDIT: At least nobody said "Two for the Money"

Casino, because it had nothing to do with the gambler. It was all about the Book or Casino, which it is. They will always win, you might win individually but they will win as a whole.

"The Passion of the Christ" is the best gambling movie.

                        * Roman soldiers gambled Jesus clothes on dice
                        * Jesus gambled trying to carry the cross by himself up the hill
                        * All the Jews bet Jesus will not rise from the dead at -900 and lost their asses 3 days later

                                  Most definitely!

Doyle Lonnegan (ya follow?) was one of the best bad guys ever. Lots of gambling - the crooked roulette wheel at the beginning, cheating in the big poker game on the train, and the big horse racing wire scam they set up at the end.

check out "Player 5150". Best sports betting movie. If you don't like betting, I'm sure you will think the movie is a drag and should be on the C movie lists.

I would have to say Two for the Money is a very realistic movie about the aspect of gambling and what it can do to your life and the world around you.

Big Shot was a decent gambling movie. The acting was bad but the story was good.

Newman and Gleason could really shoot pool. You can tell just by they held the cue, chalked the cue, set up for the shot, etc...they actually executed a lot of the shots that made the edit. Tom Cruise was fairly laughable as a pool shark. A real pool player could take one look at his stance and stroke...and know...easy mark.

James Caan as the gambling prof and Philip Seymour Hoffman as the gambling addicted loans officer that ripped his bank for hundreds of thousands (based on actual events at a Toronto bank branch) are classic characters for sure.

Everyone who's never seen that should check it out. It's a pretty dark movie, but it's fascinating and I think it accurately depicts what it's like for true addicts.
