#106Like a FISH? That's what I thought.. I'm not asking anyone to believe what I'm doing...It's keeping an open mind. Any comment is good...I'm not trying to con or scam anybody. It's just a different approach...Like I said before... I'm in a position in my life that is different than most. I'm not trying to make $1000's and $1000's of dollar's (believe it or not)..My goal is to keep this going as long as possible, until the golf season opens up here. Although, it has helped pay for my monthly golf membership bills. I've finally found something that I'm passionate in and feel that my Compulsive Obsessive Personality has finally been useful for something I love. I'm retired and love doing what I do.Comment -

#108Well that didn't go as planned, I still feel confident I made the right play. After a loss I like to break down the game and see what happened?
Couple things stuck out despite the Bears missing their best player Tristan Clark out for the year. The obvious difference was the combined shooting efficiency from behind the arc. Going into the game Baylor was ranked #264 in the nation at 18.5%...Oke St is much better over all at #30 but #106 at home shooting 36%. Tonight however both teams combined they were 28 for 54 from behind the arc...Baylor 15 for 25 shooting 60% more than 3x's their overall %.
On the positive side, I had already pulled back my ANTE and pulled out 1.5 blinds ($102.50) before I made this play...REMEMBER this CHIPSTACK is HOUSE MONEY...$1000 withdrawal (13 antes) original buy-in...overall +38 antes or units

#114I would like to say this...I found an interesting stat in Baylor's official site...I copied and pasted in my notes hoping I could use it if the odds were good. I posted a thread at the end of the half and gave out the stat. Which I capitalized on midway through the 2nd half when Baylor fell behind and placed a Chip on that, since they were +3 going into the game...LOLComment -

#118Thank you Tanner... I mention having an open mind...guys like Dan asks the right questions for sure...but I've been there, he's right, but it only gets mediocre results. I figured I'd try something new and share with the viewers that I've been working on for years...they don't like it, but I will continue as long as I have some support from members that have an OPEN MINDOriginally posted by tanner40Never mind the haters. #119I could be wrong, but I'm expecting this line to drop well before game...saying that I'm going to apply a poker move on this play...lol... Let's call it the STRADDLE...if your a poker player you know the move (YES I know a straddle is 2x the blind or ante )... it best describes this technique for me. Since I took out 1.5 antes from the bet prior to the loss and had half a chip...(guess I could have given it to the dealer for a tip). I'm going to use it on the next play

#123It's easier to make a living off of poker than sports betting
Poker requires skill from beginning to end, while sports betting requires game outcomes that are completely out of your control to go your way after you do your research.
The good news is that it's harder to go broke sports betting than it is playing poker. Because you aren't going to win about half of your games by randomly guessing in poker like you will in sports betting.Comment -

#124My apologies Scot in hindsight I guess your right a guppie or as I call them fish. That was my bad...I should have said an out of control sports gambler and compare that with an out of control poker player...where emotions and constant losses get the better of them. As a new member of SBR...can someone please explain to me how to transfer Bet Points?...I will have another question regarding my first play tonight, just trying to keep this interesting, more Bet Points on the line...is 5-BP's enough?Originally posted by scot4ou asked what a bad poker player was called. we call them guppies. wasnt knocking your ways. to me tilt is something completely different. its just someone pissed off not thinking at the time. they could be good players 95% of the time but lose their mind and money every now and then. guppies just straight up are bad and have no clue.Comment -

. The other longer edits were done purposely...they were personal, it was an attempt to let readers know where I was coming from (my history)...they were up briefly for anyone to read before erasing most of it...call it therapy for me...sounds silly but it was. The others I was divulging a little too many of my secrets or strategy...again long enough for people to read before erasing them...I was not trying to deceive anyone...the other small edits, I only make them to make more sense. So I appreciate that you actually read them, but I'm glad I did. Thanks for noticing.

#135fentoon you keep saying the same thing but in reality hot streaks exist and so do cold streaks and eventually those even out
if you get lucky and catch some big bets over some small bets you feel like a winner short term only
if you keep moving your staking around all the time eventually UNLESS you have an edge those will all even out as wellComment -

#136LOL...not sure if that is a joke or not Gaucho...I'm actually known to be trustworthy and honest... two personality traits that I'm glad I have. One thing that I have noticed reading this forum over the years...I'm not trying to be ignorant or disrespectful in any way...But, there seems to be an over abundance of viewers on this forum that are into conspiracy theories. I hope that your post is not what your implying? Your move...Originally posted by gauchojakeYahtzeeComment -

#137Thanks Dan...well in your words of having an edge, I honestly can't say that I have one...the only edge that I believe I have is that my capping ability goes a lot deeper than most. Having said that...please again have an open mind...I play every hand as a ROUND per say...and I track the ROUNDS as its one of the columns I use on my spread sheet. It takes me two rounds to start playing HOUSE MONEY as I pull back my ANTE...(this is where I am different than most players)...the round has become HOUSE MONEY or a FREE ROLL as I like to say. To most...it's their money won they don't want to risk it...my philosophy is different (yes its my money) but I really don't see it that way. I'm not looking at it as number of how many unit's am I risking, I'm looking at it as "HOW CAN I BUILD THE POT WITH HOUSE MONEY". As I move along the STREAK, I take a unit or so out to for future rounds in an attempt to have FREE ROUNDS of play. The pot get's a lot larger as I continue to raise and build the pot...like a maniac at the poker table. I get a lot tighter after my 4th bet of each round...looking for the best value in a ML play, in hopes of keeping the STREAK alive. At the end of that 4th, the pot as been built to a point that a ML play can be quiet profitable... If I'm lucky enough that I hit 6, the round ends and I will rake in the pot, having already pulled out possibly $400-$500 in ANTES plus the pot that will typically net me approximately $2200. GOOD LUCK!Originally posted by danshan11fentoon you keep saying the same thing but in reality hot streaks exist and so do cold streaks and eventually those even out

.When I'm on a COLD STREAK I'm typically only using 1 ANTE (unit per play). When I bounce between a W and L I'm losing juice but it's minimal to me. I know it sounds confusing, it's hard on a forum to describe. Nothing better that sitting with a fellow player having a couple pints and talking about this style of betting...so much easier. I will guarantee when or if I bust out...and lose my CHIPSTACK the size of CHIPS RISKED will be massive for a $75 unit player...that's why I document it and post it... If I do bust, I will look back and say it was ALL FREE PLAY because I have already withdrawn my original BUY-IN...and I can live with that...nothing gained nothing lostComment -

#138Pontoon, from what I gather you seem to believe in hot streaks and cold streaks in sports and poker?
As in, if you win a bet/hand do you then think you're more likely to win the next hand/bet?
What's the logic behind it?Comment -

#139As an example, let's say you have picked 45% against the spread over 3000 games (seems like a reasonable assumption for you) . You now win 5 games in a row; in other words, you're hot. What percentage would you give yourself to pick a winner the next game?Comment -

What's the logic behind it?Thanks for that Juice...actually they really are different but similar to some degree...call it INSTINCT...when I'm sitting at a tableI believe,it comes down to that word instinct...sounds dumb I know...but something inside me changes and I can feel it...I know BS! RIGHT...well maybe I was blessed with this instinct I don't know...did it come with the gene's...as I mentioned in the past... having been raised in a family that bet on everything you can imagine cards, particular playing poker as A KID?...sounds dumb I know...but that instinct sometimes comes during a HOT STREAK, I don't know...but I can feel it and it gives me that added confidence to play and wager the way I do and more determined to become a bettor capper. My mind is always open to change and I've used some of these threads in the past to change and evolve.
For most viewers reading this... I must sound like some kind of fukken moron I get it! and can handle any criticism and am entertained debating my theories.
