I think part of the reason is the public over values home advantage in A-League.

6 of the 10 teams are within 1 hour of each other. Adelaide and wellington is 2.5 hours max from everyone but Perth.

It's like an North East American league with a couple of Atalantas and an LA thrown in.

The other reason home field advantage is less in Australia is that traditionally soccer has been divided by ethnically supported teams, not geographically.

Italians, Croatians, Slavs, Greeks etc support their ethnic team, not local team.

Whilst Soccer Australia has done all it can to squash that in the last 10 years, it still exists enough to mean in Sydney and Melbourne you dont get the crowd divided by region as much as bettors expect.

Draws and Home field advantage are less in A-League than most other places.

I thought Jets looked lame at home v Glory 3 weeks back, struggled to put Mariners away in local derby and then lose to Adelaide at home this week. When Adelaide didnt really play too well.

Not sure about line movement either but still like City at home to soundly beat the Jets. Don't think I care too much about it as far as affecting picks anyway. Just to get best odds.

Gut is telling me that Adelaide bet might not be good. Was thinking about an Over might be good addon but not really sure how these two will matchup. Both seem to be favoring a defensive and counter attack style in games i have seen.

Liking Victory to beat Wanderers still though. Honda still not in for Victory but they get Neidermeier back and Wanderers have Risdon out of the D playing for Australia in Asia Cup.

adelaide game looks tough wellingon unbeaten last 5 maybe a slight lean to the over but that looks like the worst game left out of the 4 to bet agree with you on mel victory looks like solid play also over in that game, then on sunday like mel city and perth
