As you may have noticed, the forum was offline for a period. We identified a security incident to Sportsbook Review Forum and took the site offline as a containment step while we investigated.
We wanted to make sure the system and site were restored and secured before bringing things back online and you will see that we are requiring all forum users to reset their password as a precautionary step.
If you have any questions, our moderators are around and happy to help where they can.
It was imminent that this was going to happen but our elite athletes have finally seeped into the soccer world and have taken over. We should win the world cup easily and be favorites from now on. Only positive comments about the USA are wanted here

The USA are a terrible team. Up 2-0 at halftime and they couldn't even hold onto the draw.

I think US will be a powerhouse within 8 years. There are major areas that didn't have a select soccer program 7 years ago that have thousands of kids now. Olympic development programs are everywhere. Soccer coaches and programs from overseas are finding there is money to be made working in the US.
We just need a couple more international-capable players like Donovan. It will be like basketball where the US slowly sees real competition from international teams and the Kobe and Lebrons consider crossing over into the other markets.

USA needs 4.2 40 yard dash guys from the NFL for defense. Until then top teams in the world will continue to run circles around the USA players.

We are probably a Top 10-15 soccer power in the world at best
the fifa rankings dont mean shit- they are stupid and dont determine anything and on top of that they are wrong(spain)

I know, more stats.
not saying that it's the bible but it gives you an idea as to how "experts" see each team based on who they play over a given period.
Take it for what it's worth. OR not

USA got outplayed in 5 of their 6 games in this tourney. Luck alone will not take your far. They are light years behind Brazil and other teams. You can't be playing 10 men behind midfield for the whole 2nd half and expect to win. Very pathetic way to lose.

Thats 10 teams, you cannot think that the States are above the teams I posted. The US, while good, are not better than any of these. So you must be the idiot who lives under the rock.
The following teams are also better or at worst, similar to the US
Mexico
Czech
Sweden
Switzerland
I feel like I'm missing out on some teams. Anyway this isn't an anti-US post, I just had to prove a point to a d-bag who has no clue what he's talking about.

Depending on your definition of 'power house', I'm willing to take that bet. There is no way in the world that the US will be a soccer powerhouse any time soon.

Russia was very good during the last Euro Cup, and I'm pretty sure Hiddink is going back to coaching them after his brief Chelsea stint. Mexico is in a transition phase. Right now they're a mess, but they won't stay there. Soccer is the national sport.

durito I would love to say it was a reverse jinx but I cannot take credit for that.
I was obviously using sarcasm about being a world power, and just trying to get some people fired up lol. I had no money on the match.
I agree with Bill's comment that USA will be a powerhouse in the next decade or so. We aren't quite there, it was very obvious in the 2nd half of the Brazil game. Brazil just had bigger, faster athletes on the field. But with the influx of mexicans and other immigrants, and the more airtime the games get like today's game on ESPN, the more kids will want to play the game. It is a very fun sport to play although not nearly as fun to watch.
I played soccer (along with football, baseball, basketball, and tennis) for many years as a kid and actually was pretty good. I always led my team in goals. I averaged about 3 goals a game and went a few games where I had 6 goals. But that was little league and I never played high school. By then I was on to other sports like most everyone else. So I know the gist of the game and somewhat enjoy watching it on TV. One rule I would like to see removed that would make the game sooo much more popular is the offside rule. It ruins the game.

wow, this is just amazing
there must be some special club to REALLY understand the intricacies of the "beautiful game"
america beat spains ass up and down the field
spain tied another powerhouse, south africa during full time
brazil was full out to beat usa, must have had all the bridge jumpers nervous too
you guys are too clever for me to understand these rankings

wtf, the world cup. Everything comes down to our performances in the world cup. So far they have been very disappointing. We will not get any international respect unless we go deep into 2010 world cup. If we make a good run there, then we will get the respect.
Although England has not had a top 4 finish since 1990 when they finished 4th. So all the England fans here really don't have much to shout about either.
