It's the EV market buildout for charging stations. Been in AMT/CCI long term positions for quite a while. This one just crossed my way a few weeks ago and I took a small position. It just kept going up and I just kept adding. Up insane today , what 33%. I'm not sure what I'm doing, LOL, just chasing the trend.

In 2008 I shorted banks and traded daily/weekly. To my ignorance Mass has an extra 12.9% short term Cap gain tax. End result given my tax bracket and extra taxes I paid close to 50% off my gains. Costly lesson.

Translation: unless you're an experienced trader, try to hold a position at least 1 calendar year so you pay long term cap gains not short term

Just as I expected, the precious metals all came back today. Well so did the rest of the market. I'm placing buys for the gold stocks I have been playing, GLD, GDX, AU, AUY, KL, and now SLV just above the 20 day moving average. Hopefully they can pull back to that level. I fear that they won't so if they don't, I'll buy back at an elevated level when they take out their last high because this play is going to last for a loooooooong time.

RIG did come in with a good earnings report, so I bought more at 2.05. I usually don't cost average down, but RIG has relative strength this morning and this is in a sector that has been beaten down over the last couple of months so I think they are gonna get some love in the up coming months.

I'm adding to the NETFLIX short when it takes out the recent low and gets below the 50DMA at $460.77 in a pretty heavy way. Remember 3 of the 4 horseman report today after the close and unless they can come up with earnings that not only beat estimates but whallop estimates these will put some downward pressure on the FANG stocks.

Goat, with the caveat that I am no tax expert, it is my understanding that the difference between short and long term gains is 1 year. In 2008/9 i was trading in and out on a daily/weekly basis thus all were short term gains (Non IRA) and subject to the tax. I'm now trading exclusively my IRA. Anyone want to chip in on how this may come back to burn me please offer. Otherwise on the surface I am trading tax free until I extract from the IRA.
