#177It's hurricane season... Is what it is, happens every year. This year is just a little more intense for some reason.. Global is probably happening but not over night.. This is nature running it's course... Something is brewing up these beasts one after another right now though!!!
Just saw the news now and the devastation to one small island already.. It's basically under water.. Looks like a bomb hit it..Comment -

They say the worst winds are only in a 50 mile zone around the eye.
Barbuda still no contact for hours
Saint Martin most buildings destroyedComment -

I don't give a shit about the politics of these 2 dumb ass parties. The facts are indisputable. Water vapor, CO2, methane, N2O is crippling our atmosphere. We have increased CO2 since the industrial revolution. It is very gradual but it is very real. Do you ever wonder why places with refineries and coal plants have very poor air quality? It is man made because of pollution. Have you been to parts of China where the air pollution is so bad, you will blow a chunk of dirt when you sneeze? California has more cars than people and some of the worst air in the world. Coincidence? Are you blind? Some parts of Houston smell like rotten eggs with the crap spewing out of smoke stacks.
Every oil major has committed tremendous resources to fight CO2 emissions. Have you heard of carbon capture, carbon credits? Why do you think there's a trading market to reduce carbon and greenhouse gases? Do you really believe it's a hoax?

#188Yet we had a 1,000 year flood in Houston last week. We had an 800 year storm in March. We had another 200 year unprecedented storm last year as well. If you do not believe in climate change directly caused by humans, YOU ARE AN IDIOT!!!

Science isn't a consensus. It just isn't. 2+2 = 4 and 100% of mathematicians will agree. Not the made-up 97%. Once, the consensus was the Earth was flat except. One guy said it wasn't.
You can pretend that politics doesn't or hasn't come into play in a vast variety of subjects ranging from Asbestos to Asperatime to smoking to fat-free diets to man made global warming to man made climate change or whatever its called today all ya want. You can also call me all sorts of names to make yourself feel smart also. #197first of all, I am not necessarily a man made climate change denier. I am skeptical less. What happened 1000 years ago when that storm hit then? Was that also to do with man? The 97% of scientists thing has been debunked over and over. It's an outright lie. Yet we hear it all the time still to this day. "Scientists" in the 70's were telling us we are headed for another ice-age. Look it up. How many predictions in Al Gore's first movie came true? Yet, he made another one while he uses more energy that almost everyone on the planet.
Science isn't a consensus. It just isn't. 2+2 = 4 and 100% of mathematicians will agree. Not the made-up 97%. Once, the consensus was the Earth was flat except. One guy said it wasn't.

I have a masters degree in Nuclear Engineering with minors in physics and computational science. I worked as a reactor engineer for the government making special nuclear material to put in bombs. I built bombs that were meant to kill and protect. Then I worked on dismantling them and how to reduce the environmental impacts from hazards. I've worked in hazardous waste facilities that took in shit no one could handle. I'm talking biological, radiation, chemical weapon remediation. I worked with chemicals that cannot be detected until you were dead where a few drops would destroy an ecosystem. I've had to figure out how to bury chemicals so deadly that we had to use robots, put them in borosilicate glass and put it in stable containers in deep clay caverns. We took in infected animals universities used for research and didn't know what to do with them. Medical waste with pathogens to dangerous to characterize. I've worked in nuclear power plants, coal plants, refineries, chemical plants, etc. I know what comes out of the effluent of these plants and the environmental impact to local and national water tables for example. Anyone thinking that this stuff does not affect the environment is trolling or very misinformed. I can only think that you are misinformed. Here's an experiment. Go buy a case of Raid Fumigators. Set them off in your house and stay inside. Let's see how that works out for you??? We are doing the same thing with our earth and the US and China are the 2 biggest polluters.

#200I have nothing to do with the 2 party system, so I am making zero political claims. But, it is a fact that we have a direct impact on our environment. We can deny it, sweep it under the rug, think it's someone else's problem but it's not going away. Countries like US, China and India have polluted the planet. India is trying to make changes but the US and China are both in denial because of politics.Comment -

For the record, I have always been consistent and never did I say that man doesn't have an effect on the environment nor did I say we shouldn't be environmentally responsible to this planet. The exact opposite actually.
It seems that anytime someone questions the so-called science, we are automatically painted with the proverbial brush that we are polluters, we don't give a shit about the environment and as you put it ... we are all idiots.Comment -
