I have to watch Eric Gordon more, I saw him quite a bit at IU and he was not cat quick in college. Never seemed to be the best athlete on the floor either. I have to get the Clipps season package.

Chris Paul is better now than Iverson ever was.

and they're both losers who whine if they don't get the ball all the time.

You have to cater to them, like Philly did to AI, and even then, he only played on three successful teams in his career.

If you played either guy at point guard, your team was doomed.

Iverson is one of the most overrated players in NBA history. People enamored with point totals love him, but he took more shots than anyone.

            41.6% his first year
46.1% his second year (he never topped that number his entire career)
            41.2% his third year
            42.1% his fourth year

and he wasn't a very good three pointer shooter, either. 31.3% for his career.

I watched him slash defenses in his prime. I never considered him a top 5 player, unless you want to give him bonus points for being "small and tough".

He was never close to being the player Chris Paul is now. Chris Paul is a team player, though, so he doesn't chuck the ball up nearly as much as AI did. If all you care about is point totals, get Ricky Davis to play the point for your team.

Rose isn't even top 15 guard right now.

Paul, Parker, Harris, Mo, Billups, Miller, Nash, Kobe, Ben Gordon, Wade, Roy, Johnson, Terry, Bron, OJ are all better.

oh, by the way, the truest measure of a player is how successful his teams were.

                AI's first four years:

                22-60
                31-51
                28-22
                49-33

Chris Paul's first four years (in a tougher conference, to boot):

                38-44
                39-43
                56-26
                49-33

I don't know which argument is dumber: Derrick Rose > LeBron James or Allen Iverson > Chris Paul

                It's close.

By the way, assist/turnover is a key stat. Guess what? Like every other important statistic, Paul dominates AI.

Ummm, half those guys don't play the point.

OJ Mayo played shooting guard. Same for Brandon Roy, Kobe, Jason Terry, etc.

Unless you mean they could play the point and be better?

                    Disagree.

Rose is behind only the elite right now. Paul, Deron Williams, Parker, and maybe two others.

of course it's where he belongs. It's also where Marbury belonged. But it means that he can't defend the other team's shooting guard.

You need a big PG like Eric Snow and hope Iverson doesn't kill you too much trying to defend the other team's point guard. Or you play zone, which wasn't an option in AI's Philly years.

Also, he killed Denver and Detroit as the PG there. Detroit eventually sent him home with a fake injury.

we kno he was a SG. but he was a PG in denver and half the time in philly. AI was a bad PG even though he would get 7 assists a nite, he kills a teams offense because he only passed when he couldnt score. hes also a poor defender no matter how many steals he gets a game.

Rose has 19 points in the last two games combined on 9-25 shooting and has more turnovers than assists; He has also gotten to the free throw line twice in the last 8 quarters of basketball.

Rose has already reached his peak. He's Dev Harris with a jumper -- that's it. Borderline all-star level.

He also has the skeaziest facial I've seen since Adam Morrisson.

                              Rose <<<< Lebron

Lebron is probably the sickest athlete we've seen in a long, long, long, long time. And he's not even close to plateauing. Wait until next year's dunk contest -- he's going to make Dwight Howard and company look like amateurs.
