Actually, it would probably take less than 10 lines of code to implement something of that nature in vBulletin. Fairly simple.

I'm a bit afraid to ask this question. I fear the level of zaniness in the answer may reach dangerous levels. I suspect it has been discussed before but I missed it.

So if we run with this idea that ganchrow and tacomax are created and maintained by one person - and it's so important to have people think they're not, that just having one of them not show up at the bash was not enough. Actual imposters had to be deployed. So what's the agenda?

Mudcat, I can't answer your question, but ganch/taco isn't the only poster mystery.

According to some (well, at least one), Willie Bee's ghost is The Prick. The person showing up at the bash claiming to be The Prick was Willie's younger brother.

None of this stuff matters to me. Conspiracy theories do make for good entertainment, as long as the theorists keep it imaginative.

Well, one possibilty could be that Ganch gets a thrill out of posting with the tacomax avatar, but for obvious professional reasons, can't have the Ganchrow name associated with that avatar. So, he created a ghost to be able to post with that avatar, have his thrills, and still maintain his professional reputation.
