Don't get me wrong either, taking Staal's potential and contract stataus into account, I'm not saying your offer isn't a fair one. I just know how Dean Lombardi works, and he will not part with one of his "core players" unless the deal is too sweet to pass up on (aka, Pittsburgh overpaying)

Think along the lines of Staal, Tangradi, and a 3rd for Frolov, Boyle, and a 4th (purely random speculation mind you )

I understand. Both players are more likely to get dealt in the offseason. The Penguins will know where they stand with their UFA's, and Lombardi will have a chance to negotiate with Frolov.

Pens get: Frolov and Derek Armstrong.

Kings get: Staal and Kennedy.

Armstrong sucks. That trade looks lopsided to me.

Armstrong does suck, he's my least favorite King, but what has Kennedy done in his career? The Kings have plenty of 3rd/4th line type of guys, swapping one for another doesn't help them at all.

Darcy Regier should be fired for giving an injury prone player this much money. The guy never played a full season in about 5 years and his numbers never were spectacular.

Toskala is going under the knife. I knew his injury required surgery. The guy is tough. He faced 50 shots last night. I think Burkie should give him an extension for sticking it out so long.

Make no mistake about it though, he's a flat out awful hockey player. Takes stupid penalties all the time. He's not talented enough to be a Top 6 guy, and not fast or gritty enough to be a bottom 6 guy. He is by and large just a waste of space out there. You really don't want him.

If we can get any team to think he's worth more than a bag of pucks, I'd be thrilled.

Trust me, even if he is solid on face-offs, you certainly don't want him out there when the game is on the line.

Hasn't played well this year for sure. Last year he had decent numbers for a pretty shytty team. 2.74 gaa, .904S%. Toskala would be an all star goalie on any top 10 team.
