The problem is the vast majority of the recently passed stimulus bill won't do anything to help the economy.

From what I understand, the stimulus bill is 1100 pages long filled with democratic pork from start to finish. That is why the republicans all voted against it.

As far as illegal immigration is concerned, the United States of America doesn't have the resources to support all the illegal immigrants that are here right now let alone the rest of Mexico.

As a whole, the immigrants/poor/minorities are taking from the country far more than they are contributing.

While the rich might have all the power, they are contributing far more to the country than they are taking.

The welfare system is going to drain this country dry pretty soon, I was doing the math the other day and if you have very low/no income you are probably eligible for the standard welfare package like the one below

Section 8 housing costs lower apt rental from 550 to 150 where I live (based on income but since most have virtually none this is the deal thats standard) Savings $400/month

Food Stamps avg 210 non-taxable dollars per person, Savings $230/month

Medicaid for an average fairly healthy person in their 30s uninsurable/unable to afford insurance for a no deductible virtually copayless 100% plan avg Savings $260/month

Disability/SSI for anyone that claims to be mentally ill which virtually anyone that posts at SBR could qualify for easily check for $620/month

Approx savings 1520/month of untaxable income

Compare that to what this person would make if they worked an unskilled job say making 9 dollars per hours 40 hours a week, 9*40*4= 1440 before taxes, medicare/SS (both of which may be gone by the time their eligible to receive it) which knocks their paycheck down by 10%+ so lets say take home of 1300 even, for working 40 hours a week at a job that pays 9 an hour they LOST 220 dollars . I think one can see why this plan will never work, it motivates the individual to do nothing, in fact you make more doing nothing than working

There is no feasible plan he could have come up with that would have made them miraculously turn around.

Yeah Obama is spending a lot of money, but not just cause he wants to. This is what he thinks needs to be done. At least give it a chance before you rip it.
