The only person ever to out-strike Elkins is Diego Brandao, who could only do it for one round, then got dominated, and nobody has ever stopped his takedowns. Elkins is the guy to beat Aldo and it's going to take more than a top 10 MMA wrestler with freak athleticism, power and improving striking to stop him.

Not to get too technical but Mendes went from a 30 second KO to taking 2 minutes the next time. Clearly trending downward. Elkins went from decision to a KO in 3 minutes. Their careers are heading in opposite directions. I'll take the fighter trending upward.

Yeah, and think about it. Mendes got 400% worse between his last two fights. That's indisputable and can be supported with numbers. Depending on how you score decisions vs KO's, you can argue that Elkins got up to INFINITELY better between his last two fights. If Mendes has gotten 400% worse since his last fight, and Elkins has gotten (give or take) literally infinitely better, you'd be insane to bet on Mendes. In fact, Elkins should be the -900 favourite.
