I'm a huge Falcons here since the start of the 90's. The fans that are saying Vick did Atlanta wrong are all the newer fans who only got to see him for a year or two. The real fans wished the best for him during his court cases, jail time, and all the other b.s he had to go through for killing dogs Anyways to stay on topic I'm surprised how Vick handled everything and he was a great QB for the Falcons and it sucks that he got caught up with trouble. People are still bitter because of how we had to terminate his contract and we were left with Redman and Harrington for a season at QB, but that was the past. I'm a HUGE Michael Vick fan and never stopped being a fan. Watched this kid in College and the day he became a Falcon was awesome. it all depends on how you look at it. most people hunt for the thrill not for the meat altho a few might hunt just for the meat. of course the people who hunt for the thrill still eat what they kill but that is not the reason they go........

I lived in Georgia and South Carolina and they have some of the highest deer hunting there. Why do you think we have hunting regulations for almost every animal? Because we have too many people that abuse animal populations and would drive most extinct. There's a lot of people who shoot animals and leave them dying in the woods just for the thrill.

Did you ever hear of Internet hunting? Using remotely controlled firearms that was aimed and shot using online webcams? No eating of animals involved in that. Why do people hunt big game? They certainly don't HAVE to eat. We actually have very few people starving in the US and I can bet you that the majority of them don't even have a gun to hunt.

People have been abusing and killing innocent animals for centuries. People kill them for sport. Yes some do for food and clothing but not everyone. One of the main reasons for the domestication of the dog was to find chase and retrieve game during the hunt. Prior to that, dogs were consider game.

I was among those calling for a lifetime ban when Vick left the league. I was among the Eagles fans disgusted when our team picked him up. I didn't think the mindset of greed and cruelty it takes to be running that enterprise when you don't need the money could be redeemed. The one thing that had me a little hopeful was Tony Dungy's counseling and endorsement.

Since then, Vick's attitude has changed visibly from what it was in Atlanta. You can see it in his eyes. I frequently hear about Vick being active helping out in the community. He has spoken out actively against the gangster/criminal "culture" and forsaken the idea of "street cred". Whatever happened in the nightclub incident, nobody can say, but he was cleared of involvement. Vick has proven me wrong, and with his improved accuracy and commitment to winning, he might prove everyone who doubts he can be a superstar wrong too.

The problem isn't that Vick has been given a second chance, the problem is that in our society those who have made mistakes and truly reformed aren't given second chances often enough.

As for Stallworth and Big Ben, Stallworth made a huge mistake, but it was still a mistake and the consequences were up to the judge and jury. Big Ben had a cover up ready to go and no reason for being in some backwater bar except to find someone to rape. Roethlisberger is scum in my book and got off too light. Like you keep saying though, that's got jack to do with Vick.

Fellas, I think Vick's 'Harsh' sentence had more to do with running an illegal tri-state gambling operation on betting on the dog fighting rather than the actual act of killing the dogs.. That, and the Feds always get there rocks off out of making an example of a high-profile athlete.
