#38The change in the indy line does not scare me, just the market correcting it as you know. it doesn't change the fact that the bookies are scared to make them anything more than -1. They are begging you to take INDY ML with that price and people are already falling for it. I have only wagered NFL for a few years but opening lines are big indicators in my opinion, not changes in them. Although this is the first week so it is tough to gauge teams and lots of these lines can be taken advantage of earlier, but most are still accurate i would say

#39Its tough to predict any of these games. It is week 1 afterall.
ONLY HOME DOG I LIKE IS SKINS +3.5
Im a Dallas fan and I even know when the Boys are in for a fight.
San Diego should SHIT all over the Chiefs. SD ML safest play of the NFL Week 1 imo. And it comes at a great time (last game on monday night) Prolly make this play my biggest of the football year.Comment -

#40Bills +3 (MIA)
Steelers +1.5 (ATL)
Texans +1 (INDY)
Eagles +3 (GB)
Seahawks +3 (SF)
Rams +4 (ARI)
Chiefs +4.5 (SD)
Skins +3.5 (DALL)
I have to think at least 4 of them win su and maybe 5 on the spread. I would think that taking them all on the ML would be a profitable option. The books got worked last year on the first 8 weeks and this time they look ready to bury the public on the first weekend. It is happening in NCAAF already and i expect it to happen big time. The ones in red i like somewhat. Opinions are welcome. Please if you have nothing good to add to this discussion dont post in here. This thread is for people who gamble and take it seriously and like to have good discussion.
Texans seems like a good pick, as Indy has some new guys they're breaking in, but then Peyton Manning always seems to get it done in the regular season. But I think Houston is vastly improved. Schaub gets better every year it seems, but what about Houston's run game? Is Arian Foster the answer? Don't know yet. I'd lay off it.
Eagles +3 seems too tempting. Kolb against Rodgers-you've got to give Rodgers the nod. He won't be intimidated on the road, and I think Green Bay has something to prove this season. I could see Philly getting routed in this one.
Seahawks will be one of the worst teams in the NFL this season if you ask me. But then, the Niner's QB is Alex Smith. Seattle COULD win, but I still think it's stretch. This game could be close. But if you put a gun to my head I'd still take San Fran.
I like the Rams against the Cardinals. Cardinals lost key playmakers on both sides of the ball, which means it might take a game or two in the fray for the new guys to mesh with the old guard. Plus I think the Rams are going to be extra motivated this season to redeem last year's failure. That might not lead to a winning season, but I think it gives them extra juice week one. And I don't trust the Cardinals D anymore. I can see Steven Jackson rushing for 150+ in this one. And Bradford has looked pretty solid. Rams all the way.
Chiefs could be a sneaky good play. SD struggles with KC in Arrowhead all the time. You've got to think the Chiefs will be better than last year, and SD isn't as good. If I had to pick three of the home dogs, I'd take KC for sure.
I think the Skins are a great play here. The Cowboys have had their number as of late, but the Skins haven't had a quality quarterback in YEARS. Their D was solid last season, and Mike Shanahan's teams always run the ball effectively. I think Cooley/McNabb hook up for some big plays, and I think the Skins win outright. I'm not sold on Dallas. D looks OK, but they're going to have issues in the backfield and the receiving corp because you've got a sliding veteran (Roy Williams) a hot-shot rookie (Dez Bryant) and an up and comer (Austin) all wanting the ball, plus Felix Jones/Barber/Choice all wanting carries. Combine that with the fact that Romo has never struck me as the type of guy that can settle down that sort of squabbling amongst teammates, and I think Dallas is in for a long season. I don't even think they'll make the playoffs. Plus their o-line is old and banged up. Washington is going to want this one more. And in this rivalry, that's sometimes enough. You combine McNabb's veteran cool, plus all the vets in that locker room knowing it's their last shot, and I see the Skins coming out of the gate blazing. I took them on a future to win the division. Would definitely take them to cover here.No more of that talk, or I'll put the leeches on you.Comment -

#47Eagles will disappoint. I think their secondary is garbage and they struggle to score tds in the red zone. Jackson should have problems getting open with the physical play of GBs corners. Can't help but want to take the Bills with that wacky line.Comment -

#48Steelers are a play for me. Heinze field is no joke, and we're pickin the D.
Chiefs will be one also. Arrowhead is one o the toughest stadiums to play in. The Chiefs alwYs plays SD tough, and they got got a shot @ winning straight up IMHO.Comment -

#49I don't see the Texans coming out quite so strong as to beat Peyton --
Their weapons are potential at this point in the season (Arian Foster, Jacoby Jones), limited (Owen Daniels), or Andre Johnson and Matt Schaub. I am looking for them to be a strong team mid-season assuming their potential studs are actual studs, but don't think they will win this first matchup.
I do like the Rams because I have no faith in the Cards this season.
Good luck with the picks!!Comment -

#55"These two teams combined to go Over the total when they met last January in the NFC Title game - the ninth time in 11 meetings a Vikings vs. Saints game has cashed for Over bettors. But check this out: 58% of all Week One contests since the 2000 season have gone Under the total. Additionally, if both teams had winning records the previous year, the number jumps to 72%! This number is too high for this early in the year as we expect the Vikings offense to struggle with Favre still getting acclimated. "Comment -
