Good luck OPG. I thought about NYG as well. Hasselbeck is out, so Seattle is in big trouble against that NYG Def.

That said, I'm on GB this week. I just checked my pool, and only 2 others (of 25 remaining from 178 to start) have not used GB to date, so it puts me in a potentially good position.

Good pick...I used Green Bay early so I went with my gut. Another reason I went with Minnesota is that I am not sure New York will be up to fly 3000 miles to play a team that they don't care about with rival Dallas on deck. I have no read Seattle either even though I am from there. Good luck with the Pack and lets hope Farve plays better.

I would be shocked if the Giants do better than the Vikings on Sunday

Picking between MIN & NYJ. Not feeling great about either but leaning towards MIN because they are at home... Tough spot this week...

This could be your kill shot with Green Bay this week.
            Dallas is way too poor.
Everybody else has a fighting chance.
Wish you the best of luck

I run a pool with 103 entries and we have 16 left.
Only 1 entry has Green Bay available but that guy decided to pick the Giants.

Minnesota is not a bad pick. I'm gonna pass on that however.
I'm gonna pass on the Vikes because the team is a little unstable with all the crap that has been going on.

I'm gonna fold into the Falcons.
At first I was against it because it's a divisional game and that's a big no-no. But it's my best option.
Falcons have a lucky home advantage to where they find ways to win.
They have had 2 weeks to prepare.
Buccs haven't beat a team with a winning record.
Falcons should be able to run on the front 7. Michael Turner and Jason Snelling should be fine.

Would have loved to use but aready used:
              NYG (Seahawks QB is out)
GB (Dallas is playing for a top 3 draft pick next year)
              Bal (Home and first place)
              Pit (Cincy flat out sucks)
NE (Pats are rolling and Browns are undermatched)

              I didn't pick:
              Houston (short week)
              Minny ( turmoil, drama)
NYJ (Jets didn't score last week, Lions will bring the rush and the Lions can score on their own turf)
Chicago (Buffalo is getting better every week and they are so due after a game expiring overtime)

Anyways, I love the thread and I look forward to reading it next week.

How do we not take the Giants the way the Cowboys are playing right now? What's the spread gonna be? Giants -21?

I'm locking in with the Giants this week.

My used teams: Titans, Packers, Pats, Saints, Ravens, Steelers, Seahawks, Chiefs, Falcons, Giants

The Giants are white hot right now and the Cowboys are corpse cold. There's no way I'm going to try to get cute with the 49ers or Bucs when such a strong play is available. This is as good of a spot as any to use the Giants. It's prime time to burn them up.

With you on the Giants. Thought about trying to squeek out a win on TB, but am leaning to the safer pick.

Already used the Giants... Choosing between Tampa, San Fran, the Jets, and the Colts. Think I gotta give myself the best chance to survive and go with the Colts and hope some of those other games crap out.

My used teams: Tenn, Atl, NE, GB, Balt, NYG, KC, Detroit, Philly

My choices come down to Indy, SF, and Arizona.

Would never even consider TB. Everyone is using TB, and the pot odds are negative.
Would sooner pick Carolina, truth be told.

                              I am going with SF.

If I get through this week I am golden. I still have Indy, NO, Pitt, SD, Jets, and Vikes in the back pocket. Downhill skiing.

Giants are the only sure thing this week. There's no look ahead here either, because the Giants would love nothing more than laying it on and steam-rolling the sh** out of Dallas.

Absolutely. If anything, I thought Giants @ Seahawks would catch the Giants napping with Dallas & @Philly coming up. Giants are peaking right now and the Giants can basically name the score this weekend. Dallas should just forfeit and take an extra bye week to gear up for hosting Detroit which they could actually maybe win.

Then again, I thought the Pats would blow out Buffalo at home, Saints would blow out Carolina at home and Packers blow out the Lions at home, all in similar circumstances and they were all nail biters with the heavy road dog covering easily. I guess one difference is the coaching change, which is a negative ATS.

I guess take SF, it's the biggest favorite left of your unused teams. Although, I'm playing STL ATS & ML because I'm basically fading Troy Smith against a capable defense. I like the Rams as an emergent team, but this is a tough game because we really don't know which direction either of these teams is headed. Also, this could actually be a key game in determining the division, SF can get right back into the divisional race with a win, which may get them motivated.

Otherwise, Cardinals might be an interesting choice. You could take a chance with a team nobody else will be taking, with a possible strategic leapfrogging effect, which you already seem to be taking with some of your earlier picks. Again, the Cards could make noise in that divisional race with a win, so they've got plenty of motivation. I liked how the Cards played for 3 1/2 quarters against a tough Vikings team last week. But there's certainly questions about Derek Anderson in the clutch, he just doesn't look like a clutch QB to me, but maybe a serviceable backup type guy. The key is whether Hasselbeck will play or not, I imagine he will in a key game like this, but definitely something to assess for this game.

I guess it kinda comes down to Troy Smith versus Derek Anderson. Pick your poison.

                                              Survivor Week 10

                                              New York Giants

                                              Analysis:
I see only one option here and that is to go with the biggest favorite on the board. I hate picking a team playing in a divisional game but most of the games this week fit into that category. New York is my 3rd ranked team and Dallas has a new coach and lots of turmoil. The Giants can get to the passer, so Kitna will struggle to find receivers downfield. Divisional games are always closer than they look on paper so I expect a touchdown win for the G-Men.

                                              Trends to consider:
Teams that have fired their coaches mid-season on a non-bye week are 2-11 against the spread since 1996

I second slacker's thought on San Fran. St. Louis is not doing as well on the road as they are at home and Steven Jackson has not been as explosive as he has been in recent years.

The Jets is another choice. I think they shut down Peyton Hillis and force Colt McCoy to beat them but Cleveland has been very competitive this year and you don't know what Mark Sanchez will show up.

                                                  Take the Giants- easily.
It's a potential killshot because a lot of people have used them.
                                                  This is a lock.

I'm stuck using Tampa Bay. I already used the Giants in week 1.
I'll be sweating my ass off on Sunday to get by, knowing that I have to get by because the Giant backers are also getting by.

Trends to consider: Teams that have fired their coaches mid-season on a non-bye week are 2-11 against the spread since 1996

I'm in 2 survivor pools and all year I've taken different teams just to be safe. I'm definitely going with the Giants in the biggest one, but should I take them in both?? In the second one I could also use Indy or Tampa Bay. All week I've been thinking Indy, but now I'm doubting myself and thinking the Giants in both because it just seems crazy not taking the GMen if you can. Anyway, thanks to you all for your input and expertise. So glad to be on the SBR Team. Take care and good luck all!!!

Take Giants in both. No need to incur additional risk. You have 2 aces. Play them both.

Colts are really hurting right now and Tampa just played their super bowl and lost (emotionally they will struggle). go with the Giants and both. Dallas without their coach will have a hard time beating the G-men.

I can't imagine they'll be up for this one against what everyone seems to think is a layup for the Bucs and an easy win. These games are the dangerous ones that can really bite you. John Fox is still fighting for his job and possibly still auditioning for a new position with another team next year, he'll have the Panthers ready to go against a team that they're extremely familiar with. John Fox, is always good at getting his team up for same-season revenge games. Carolina covers this one, and probably finds a way to win.
