As for my bet, I thought about going with Saskatchewan huge. But I´m not, as during the last week or so fading myself proved to be, if not moneymaking, then moneysaving at least. I´ll stick to my original lean, but not with the money I intended. I´m gonna enjoy the game, I guess finals don´t always have to be about betting big.

Congrats to the Montreal Alouettes on winning their second consecutive Grey Cup today. I'm sorry that I didn't catch your message BetterBizz but after I placed my pair of Grey Cup wagers, I didn't log on again until now.
Certainly a tough way to lose your -3.5 play on the Als when they capped the game off with the victory.
You know in summing up my final thoughts on today's game, I thought the Riders did a piss-poor job utilizing Darian Durant's main strength, that being his legs. The guy sat back in the pocket far too many times and simply handed off or threw for minimal yardage as opposed to using his feet and keeping the Montreal defense off balance. It was a very dismal and pathetic second half overall performance on the part of the Riders and Montreal was the better team once again in this year's Grey Cup.
I have to say that I don't know how many times in the first half I thought Saskatchewan was nearly offside as their receivers continuously hit the line of scrimmage or passed it just as or prior to the bloody ball being snapped. I kept thinking to myself they're going to get caught for an offside before this game is complete. As little as the Riders moved the ball in the second half, sure enough they were indeed caught for the offside penalty when it hurt most. Needing a field goal to tie the contest and more importantly a first down to move the sticks, Andy Fantuz was called for offside and that penalty took away a key first down reception and basically sealed the coffin shut for the prairie Riders. I don't know how many times they came so close to being nailed for this particular infraction prior to this one as Fantuz, Getzlaf, Dressler and Clermont continuously came so close to crossing the line of scrimmage prior to the ball being snapped.
In closing I want to say how fvcking stupid Saskatchewan's Marc Parenteau looked in celebrating his one-yard TD reception in the final couple of minutes. I mean if the catch or TD added to an already Rider lead or gave the Riders the lead after trailing, I could fully understand the celebration. However the fact was his team was still losing, why celebrate so excessively and look so bloody stupid in doing so on national televsion and in a Grey Cup game?
I guess when you look at his name, it might be understandable---if you catch my drift!

As the teams headed for the locker rooms, I thought was might be in for a classic second half but we were treated to, what I thought was a very dull and slow second half, thanks mainly to the ineptness on the part of Saskatchewan to move the chains.Wow, man, what a SHARP line that was!! You´re right about the firts half, but I couldn´t admit to myself that I actually liked it because of the low scoring. Maybe in a couple of days I will remember it in a better light. Right now I feel disappointed a bit, the expectation were high, you know. Also the season is over, so I´m kinda sad... c U around next year

Ok hangover is mostly done...
the game cost me in a big way... although you should never chase, I felt this was the play to make... Up 10 late, it was really Very difficult for me/us to lose, yet every scenario possible seemed to work against the cover...
1) couldn't move the sticks up 10 in their own zone with 5 min left
2) Didn't give up the Safety in their own zone with horrible punter
3) Gave up a TD 3 plays after the punt
4) Missed the FG from 39
5) Missed getting the single from 39
6) Sask Didn't move the ball to tie it and send it to o/t
7) Montreal Gets Pick in Sask zone but gets first down and kills clock
Pretty Obvious Rider Cover if you ask me... Only SEVEN things that could have happened differently that would have in all likelyhood covered the hook... Although there are no guarantees... Any of these things happen differently and we cover...Comment -

BB, I also truly wish to thank you for this thread and all the great effort behind it.
Your write-ups are very useful and contain a deep insight and plenty of information (helpful even when betting the other side). I almost did not have to do anything (apart from having my opinion on the game), but to wait for them. I am not such a lazy bum, but have a little time for capping the CFL, despite being a passionate fan. I´m sorry about the finish, everything went downhill since the weekend you had gone 4-0. But such is betting, I´m sure you´ll win it all back. Hope you and the thread will be here for the whole next season.

It may have been a small following, but I really enjoyed getting all the Previews down to build confidence in my pick... Even when it didn't go my way... I'm glad those, even if not tailing could gain some insight using the Raw Numbers, as well find something they liked in the write up...
Who would have thought the little CFL thread started half way through the year would get almost 9000 views...
