Nflwins i think you're great! It's about time someone calls out all the babies around here. Everyone bashing the guy about his claims and then he steps up and starts posting to shut everyone up and he stills gets bashed even with winning picks this week. Hell even i got bashed for saying i didnt care if you hit 70% or not i was just impressed that you stepped up and started posting to shut everyone up. Is there any way we can exchange emails or something without getting yelled out by the mods. I have been hitting a little over 60% the last couple seasons and would like to discuss a few things with you if possible.

Units is a better way of tracking your record. Hitting a % is only relevant if your playing the same stake and odds for each game. It is obvious that you can pick a higher % of ml winners if you pick favs as opposed to dogs. The profit in units that you make from your plays is more important than the % of plays you hit. If every play is ats at -110 for the same stake then I suppose tracking a % is ok however.

nflwins, to answer your question about units, in football using units seems really bogus to me and is something that only irresponsible wannabees do. You have to understand, many on here are teenagers who are living out their online personnas to escape their miserable lives, and hitting a big unit play gets them plenty of internet props in thier mind. Personally, I only look at a person's record and all the plays I make are 1 unit plays. Missing a big unit play can cause so much negative momentum its just not worth it. People who are smart enough to learn from others' mistakes don't make 10 units bets. I think baseball is the only major sport where units are important because most plays are ML and can be -300 or +300 or more. btw, good work on your ats plays last week. I don't play preseason at all but look forward to reading your regular season plays if you're still here at that time.

i see many posters have units won and notthere actual records......like they make a 5 better unit bet and a 3 reg bet unit bet and a best 10 unit bet,,,,so if they go lets say 3-2 for the week with there 10 unit or star bet winning they insure having a record that looks good on paper by saying wewon are 10 unit play and the other plays we all 3 units so if they go 3-2 they had 6 units loser 6units and 10 units winner for a +10 unit week.......now when i see someone up 10 units i think they went 10 games over 500 like 20wins and 10 losses in plays.....but most on here have the star system or units,,,,,,,,is it a bogus record to post more units won then your actual record,,,in wins and losses....i was just wandering does the hilton contest do it that way.......does any contest do it that way,,,,,,,,or only cappers that want to show more units won there there actual record...the reason i ask can have record of 15 games to the plus for the whole year and call that a great record,,,,regardless of how many games i pick......can i now say i am up 79 units.....

Most contests are graded equal, some I've been in also give you more points for you're top picks. I use a 1-4 unit on presason, and 1-10 in regualr. Last year on my site I had 71-47 record over 50 units to the good. Preseason this year 7-1 +7.8 units. Bottom line is if you can pick games, then it doesn't matter which you use the % percentage of you're bankroll or units per game. If you can pick games both will wipe you out. If you're flat betting, and hitting at 50%, its just a slower death. So pick winners. Most guys gambling have no self control. Bankroll, yeah right. If you set them up like I do on my site, giving them a set number of 50.00 per unit to wager on x lets say a 7 unit wager which would be a modest 350.00 wager. They can't stick to that plan either. That's why people lose. No self control to stick with a money mgmt system, no matter what it may be.

At least I track my posted games in wins, losses, and units. Wong teasers have been hitting for me (along with my hedges) but I didn't post them so I don't count them on my record. I know I'm not the best capper on here, and every now and then I learn something from a poster. Slacker in particular is great to bandy around different sides of a game with (even if we sometimes get heated) because he takes a completely different approach to me. 2-4 on the preseason is nothing to panic over.

If I do have a shit season and people fade me successfully, at least somebody took the money from the bookie. I hope everybody wins, but you're doing your best to get me to make an exception.

If you have time, take a look at the sport monitor sites. The best records documented for the handicappers for the past few years are around 63% for NFL and CFB.

Using the league or team trends to get an edge, you are not the only one. Al McMordie, Tom Stryker and Matt Fargo are well known in this area. Over the past 20 years, I believe they did have 1 or 2 lucky years hitting above 66%.

You can always back fit numbers to make the them come out to a high winning percentage, but they will fall apart with the real test. And most of the times, your 'so-called' systems play against each other.
