#39Yeah he is def going to retire. I think he feels so bad about losing the game that he just wants to get out. He took some big hits to and I think hes tired of all that pain. Got to say hes a pretty tough guyComment -

He's been in the NFL for 20 years, he wouldn't have made it if he couldn't handle pain.
As for Favre's wife and family, he's been through that process every year for the past five years or so. He keeps coming back. There's no way this guy will retire until his body simply gives out. As history has shown, this guy is tougher than a cockroach. He'll be back next season.Comment -

#48Pat Reusse a long, long time reporter at The Minneapolis Star Tribune and commentater on KSTP am 1500 who declared ahead of time last year he was coming to the Vikings said that Favre and another Viking bought a hunting shack in Minnesota for what that's worth.Favre makes enough $ in about a minute of a game to buy a hunting shack.I have one and don't even hunt much anymore. It's a Minnesota thing.Comment -

#51You guys have no clue about this guy.. Not being mean here at all.
I have several sources close to him, including his dumb brother, Darrel Bevel, and Frank Winters. #4 is an absolute great guy on the field, grit, tough, smart. Off the field is where he is a POS.
If it were not for Ron Wolf and Don Majkowski he would never played a career like this.
However, as the media hyped and hyped him up, so did his head. The last 8 or so years it has been all about #4. Loves the attention and takes advantage of it. Is it wrong, no, but you are never better than the TEAM. He has his own office, locker room, and does little with other players, like he would do in the old days.
He was blessed with a great arm, big hands, and over time the knowledge of a great system. Why did he fail in NY? System. Vikings run the same system as he did with the Pack, so it was easy for him. Plus I think this years Minn. team was probably the most talented he has ever been on.
He has all the stats for sure. He will tell you they do not matter, but do not be fooled. They do. Championships are team things and he has made some of the biggest blunders in those types of games I have ever seen.
You will never take the gunslinger out of him. It is ingrained like animals instincts. Leroy Butler, a friend, not mine, gives a whole different aspect of this guy. Self absorbed and distant.
Now, the original ? Retire or not. NO. It is all he has. Sure the $ and endorsements but he will be back. Why not? Kurt Warner has his priorities right. Family and 7 kids to tend to. #4, nothing but foots.
His mistakes in GB/Ny game and this past week are 2 of the worst decisions a player could ever make, even at a HS level in this type of game. How many fans, players, management, and bettors did he PERSONALLY fail with those decisions in big games. Think of all the hard work, whole lives, trying to get to that point and have it fail on those passes. Nobody to blame but #4.
May sound like I am a hater. NOT. But those who put him on this pedestal need to think a bit more and scratch below the surface to see what kind of man this is.
See you next year Brett. After training camp of course.Comment -
