Yeah I'm just playing, I'm gonna let them both ride probably, although you make a very cogent argument on the 49ers so I might change that one.

EDIT: I also kinda like Harbaugh v. Harbaugh in the super bowl, sounds like the caption on a divorce case, lawyer joke. "In the precedent-setting case of Harbaugh v. Harbaugh, the Court held that..."

I want to spearhead a movement to do away with "May it please the court...." I hate that phrase. Puts images in my head of having to do sexual favors for the judges or something lol.

Me too. I actually saw a kid (I mean fresh out of law school) try a case the other day and he spoke to the judge like he was speaking to a law professor. I was cringing it was so uncomfortable

It was a bench trial for a breach of contract case and the kid starts off with "May it please the court, the elements of a breach of contract are...." The judge goes "Son, I've been doing this for 30 years, I know what a breach is"

The kid got destroyed.

Lol, at trial court level too? That's a double-pwn. Usually "may it please the court" is what you say when arguing an appeal; at trial court you can just say "Thank you, your honor" and begin talking. At least in my experience.

At the same time, I feel bad when I see stuff like that because you know the kid probably lost sleep over it and thought his career was over, etc. when in reality attys look stupid in court all the time, myself included, and its really no big deal.

I watched a pretty experienced attorney that I've done some work for get excoriated, like literally chewed out, by a judge because of the way he handled a discovery dispute, and I was thinking to myself "man if I was him that would ruin my day, and probably my week." Later on back at the office I see him whistling to himself as he is making photocopies, happy as a clam. With time you just get numb to it I guess. It's like sports betting. If you take a beating, you take it and move on.

Wow, thats a really good comparison Film. Sometimes I have buddies over who never gamble and they'll throw a couple bucks on a game with me and if it loses they are crushed. At any given moment I could have been up or down thousands. But I had a great time the whole time, whether I was up or down. One of my friends that rarely gambles lost, literally, 40 bucks at blackjack early on and was devastated, like it ruined his trip. Lol, it's all relative I guess.

We all know the risks involved with this, but with me, I have the same emotions whether I have 1 Million dollars or if I'm living under a bridge. This is all a good time to me. I play poker for a living and 80% of my income is from poker, the rest is from the great guys here on this forum who share their plays. Gambling is a living to me, to most others I know in my family or friends, they would kill themselves if they lost $20 gambling. They never make it big or shoot for the stars because they are scared, they live paycheck to paycheck and are fine with that.

With me, I will gamble my whole life away to make it big. I play a couple of $2500 tourneys in the WSOP every year. Some of the top prizes are in the Millions, it makes it worth it to me.

Amen brother, we only have this one life here on earth, why not live it up. Obviously we have to maintain some level of responsibility when we have family to take care of and whatnot, but as long as those things are under control, roll them dice. It's like the legendary gambler Archie Karas - he went from broke to multimillionaire to broke and back again so many times, and never had any regrets. But I can't find why the sharps are on Santa clara. This looks like the ultimate trap game but I think they have this one wrong. Small play for me but just can't see Santa Clara's awful defense with almost all under class men and no seniors winning their first conference game against a decent Loyola team
