I don't really know of any free ones other than on the forums. There is a cbb spreadsheet system that is posted here over in the nba forum. I haven't looked at it in a while. It was doing pretty good earlier in the year when I looked at it.
I am like you, football is king!!

I'm on the saints and colts too
haven't looked at Sunday's yet...
I am watching this az/no game and the gb game last week. I really don't like games where the defenses absolutely suck!!! There is already 49pts in the first freaking half!!!! I don't mind a high scoring game, but when the defenses do absolutely nothing I don't care for it!!
Saying that, NO has been pretty good on D other than the opening play, but AZ is pitiful on D!!
good luck on those plays

#110yeah arizona shined when they played Greenbay cause of no D . Saints is pretty good . so they got wooped .. and turnovers killed em.
Im a Colts fan ..Live near Tennessee where Manning played College .
Cowboys is good but when they PLayed Eagles they didnt have to worry about a RUn game like they will against Vikings .
And I THink Jets and Chargers will be a close game .. Jets have a chance if they dont turn the ball over and if they can stop Chargers a couple times .. I think they will need to get a early lead too .Comment -

I will be pulling for the Colts the whole way since the Titans didn't make it. I am a UT fan so Manning is one (if not the) of my all time favorites.
Early lean on Dallas today before looking at any numbers...Comment -

awesome man
Kiffin screwed us!!
Hopefully we can hang onto the rest of the recruiting class. We already have 8 on campus and I know of several others still coming, but we won't be top 5 like it was looking. Hopefully we can stay in the top 20. We are so thin at so many positions to begin with we really need this class.Comment -

#119Originally posted by qwertvtballs2wall - Which formulas are you using from the "Formula Warehouse"?
I am not using any.
I created about dozen or so formulas at the start of the season. I didn't tune them at all. Then after a couple of weeks I looked at them to see which ones were doing good. I put those half dozen or so that were doing good into my group and haven't tuned them all season. I was just using just those for my totals up until Thursday. They were doing well until a couple of weeks ago then they started slipping.
On Thursday I added 11 tuned formulas to my totals group. Half of them are balanced ave and half are rolling ave with one season to date. The way I am doing it is I the b/a are even dates (last 2 games, 4 games, 6 games and 8 games) the r/a are odd (1, 3, 5, 7, 9).
As of some time last week, I have removed all the totals from the platinum picks since I am just doing sides on the platinum. The totals were bringing it down since the side results were so bad on the totals.Comment -

cool
I usually buy the whole package. You get a better deal that way, but it is not worth it now for this year since football is basically over and ncaab is half over.
I put everything into spreadsheets. That is one of the main reasons I like the software is everything can easily be exported into spreadsheets making it much easier on me. It is almost worth the price for me for that reason alone.
I also like that I can't look into every game and this helps me narrow down the ones I look at.Comment -

Yeah, I think we had a good chance to be in the top 3. We had some guys lined up that were not verbals yet and were going to finish strong. Oh well
I have heard good things about Dooley. Most fans on the message boards etc... aren't too happy, but I will give him a chance.Comment -

#129Originally posted by trevlyn1983any tips on creating your own formula's ?
I would just try to mix them up as much as possible then do the consensus. Probably the more formulas the better to a certain extent (with a higher number of required formulas in agreement).
I would create rolling average, balanced, year to date, fixed at date on previous years etc... so that you don't have a bunch of formulas that are similar. Put them in a consensus so that when they agree you have opinions from 1 game to 15 or whatever and even going 4 or how ever many years back. I honestly haven't done as good of a job at this as I am preaching. I should have more formulas and better tuned ones etc...
The one thing I haven't figured out yet is how often to tune the plays. I have a couple of different opinions on this, but haven't taken the time to figure out which one is best. I do believe in trying to have formulas that do well that you never ( or rarely) tune then joining them with tuned ones for the consensus.
You need to figure out a naming convention that will hold up. Here is an example of mine:
T-RA-8-A (t=totals, RA=rolling ave, 8=games-A=base formula (i have a few base formulas that I start from and never tune which I just click "edit" then "save as" to make new ones).
another: TUNE-T-RA-8-A. This is simply a copy of the above one that I tune.
I should have better results, but I am not playing all of these and I don't spend as much time with the program as I should.
It can go on big runs so there is potential for you in the contests.
PM me and I will try to help you more. There are a ton of things I have picked up in the software that I wish I didn't have to learn by trial and error. I would keep going here, but I already have a novel typed and I need to do some other things
good luck

#134ok here is what i have done so far .. I took each of the 12 I made from the others and split them into 3 groups of 4 .. So i have 3 groups of 4 for each ATS , Totals , and Straight Up .. Then 1 Group of 4 for each set I made them have Roling average of 1-4 games . and a Balanced Average of 1-4 games . then 1 group Regular Season to date . Thats what i have done so far ..

Nice start
Here is my advice:
I think you will end up needing more formulas. I would go ahead and start working on some formulas. Keep playing like you are for now, but be working on others and make new groups or whatever and monitor them against what you are doing now.
So keep doing what you are doing, but make new groups and formulas so you will be ready when you think you need to change it up a bit. After a few days or weeks you will have several groups and one or two should stand out as performing better than the others.Comment -

thanks bro
the support is appreciated!!!
I need to spend more time tweaking, but I haven't really done much of it yet. I think it would be doing better if I had put forth a little effort.
Timing also hurt since it started off in the hole in the beginning. If I had started a week sooner or later the record would look much better.
hopefully both are on the upswing

I didn't mess with any of that. Unless you uncheck them the values are going to change when you tune them anyway. That may be a good way to do it, but I just haven't had time to try it that way.
All I did was try to mix them up as much as possible. I made RA and BA from 1 dates all the way to 11 or more. I made FAD for the start of 2008, 2007 and 2006. I made a few YTDs etc... I am thinking the more formulas there are and the more different they are the better. In other words, 20 formulas all using YTD will not be any good, in my opinion.Comment -
