I just found this site a few weeks ago and must say I really like it!!
I noticed there has been a lot of interest in the NBA simulation plays, as well as the spreadsheet stuff in here and the NBA forum.
I thought about adding my system plays earlier, but haven't until now. I wish I would have because they would be off to a sweet start so far! I was also doing NBA a few weeks ago, but haven't been able to keep up with everything including football so I am just doing NCAAB for now. I may add NBA after football is over. As far as football goes, It is almost over so I am not going to post any of them.
I am not taking much credit for these plays. If they do great I am not going to pound my chest saying I am the greatest and if they lose I am not going to lose any sleep over it. They are just coming from software that someone else created and there is not too much input on my part. To be honest, posting 3 systems is probably going to result in at least one of them crashing and burning. I may drop one in a week or two depending on what transpires. I should choose 1 side (just go with platinum) system, but am going with these 3 (2 sides and 1 total) to start since they have all been doing well.
I really do not want any drama, which is one of the main reasons I didn't post them to start with. I see way too often how these forums (all web sites) tend to turn into pissing matches. I am not playing these plays!!! I am merely posting these because they have been doing well and I want to help anyone who may benefit from it. They may quickly turn into fade plays and that is great if we can catch onto that early and some people can benefit from it. However, I feel confident that at least one if not 2 or 3 will give good results from here forward.
I suggest anyone who wants to follow these to use them as just a tool to add to your toolbox of capping tools. If you are the type who just wants to blindly follow, I would suggest finding one you like (if any) and going with just that system.
If I had to choose one to blindly follow, I would suggest the Platinum side plays. There aren't nearly as many of them, but there are still plenty of plays. The winning % has also been much higher.
All of the formulas used in the two systems (excluding Platinum) have not been modified since I created them about a week into the season. That is the reason I am using them in the consensus plays! As of now, the platinum plays have been using a few tuned plays, but I may change that if needed.
Hopefully I can keep at least 2 of these without changing any parameters or anything. However, I reserve the right to tweak anything along the way. I plan on disclosing anything changed other than anything very minor.
I will try to answer any questions within reason. I have limited time so I will do the best I can.
The following 3 posts will be the YTD for the 3 systems YTD so far. I could have taken time to tune (back test) these to create inflated results for YTD, but that would probably end up with them failing from here forward, not to mention that is not what I am all about. These two systems have not been modified since about week 2 of the season when I created them. I created them and tuned them sometime during the second week and have not tuned them since. The platinum plays have been partially modified (I have created and tuned a few formulas since the start of the year (about 10 side systems and not totals)). I plan on creating and tuning a few totals systems this week as well, which will only slightly effect the platinum plays and not be included in the other two systems consensus plays. I probably need to remove all totals formulas from these anyway, but have not looked into it yet.
