Toddorts NBA 2011-2012 Season Picks

Pretty quiet night for the NBA, but I did manage to find value in two games:

Nets @ PACERS -8.5 -102
Clippers @ TRAILBLAZERS +2 -108

I think the line is way off for the Clippers game. People are making too much of the Clippers this season, in my opinion. The Trailblazers have a great offense, a pretty good defense, and they're on home court. The Clippers's offense is also great, but I'm not thrilled with their defensive skills. I'd put them in about the middle of the pack for this league. Being on the road, I think they should be getting points in this situation rather than giving them. You could take a moneyline on the Blazers, but I rarely bet moneylines in the NBA, so I'm sticking with the points. In the Nets game, the Pacers may be fatigued, which could swing this one, but I still give the Pacers credit here. I think the correct line is more like Pacers -12. The Nets really are awful.

I can't believe the Blazers threw that away at the last minute. Up by 10-15 for most of the game, and then lose by 3? You have to play an entire 4 periods, guys! Anyway, bad night at 0-2, -2.00 units.
