Rose is not playing tonight and even if he was I was going to take the Wizards today. Matchup wise, the Wizards have the offensive weapons to take Chicago out of their comfort zone tonight. They will need to rely heavily on Boozer and Deng tonight offensively and honestly I don't think either player is capable of carrying this team to a DD win. Korver is shooting well right now and he should drill a few threes off the bench but the Wizards have more depth (scoring wise) on their bench and I would like to see what the Bulls game plan is with no Rose.

The Clippers are going to struggle against the elite teams this year just like MIA did last year. They will find their groove the second half of the season and will be a legit threat come playoff time.

Wade has torched Billups his entire career. I don't see that changing tonight as this is a horrible mismatch at the 2 position. Billups can hold his own offensively but he's a step slow defensively and Wade's penetration is going to get Jordan in foul trouble early line. Wade should drop 30 tonight on the Clippers.

In theory I would take the Knicks but I really don't think Philly is tired. Every team looks forward to playing at the Garden and Collins divies the minutes out pretty evenly among 8 players. That's a good recipe when your playing several games in a row. The Knicks are not a good team. Getting rid of Billups was the worst thing for this team. Now they have no floor general and no true pg. It's all iso for the Knicks and if Mello and Amare both don't play great games then they're not going to win against good teams. Now these are two of the top 10 players in the league in my opinion so they can really go off at any time, but I think Andre will hold Melo to 25ish tonight and make him a volume shooter. I was going to take the Knicks but the line @ 4 is honestly ridiculous.

No...i never guess. I set my own lines that are based in quantitative and qualitative factors. However, I don't know whether there is a good play or not UNTIL I compare my number to what the books have. Consequently, I need to know what number the books put up before i know there is value in a play. What if the books hang a crazy number that is way overvalued, will he still make the same play?

I'm not bashing goat, just asking how he can know something is a play without knowing the number he will get.

the "guess" is the thing that you described above. For sure, you have to compare "your" line with the bookie's one, but if you feel well for a play, then you can say that you will bet a huge number on it.
