I understand that stats don't always tell the story JM but they don't support the Pistons tonight..

Play on home teams (Lakers) off an upset loss by 15 points or more as a favourite when facing an opponent off a road ATS cover where the team lost SU as an underdog. This trend is 24-5 ATS for 83% winners since 1996.

Additionally, Detroit are 0-10 ATS in road games after losing 4 of their last 5 games over the last 2 seasons.

HOWEVER.. Like I said, stats and trends don't always tell the full story and fading the lakers at home as big favourites has proved to be a profitable investment so I can see why you have made the play on Detroit.

Unlucky with the Pistons JM If i had to make a play I would have gone with Lakers based on the reasons I mentioned before the game but Lakers do have a habit of failing to cover double digit handicaps at home and Pistons catching 12 points seems quite appealing especially based on Lakers performance Vs the Grizz so I can see why you made the play you did, just didn't work out this time.

Los Angeles Lakers -4 @ Pheonix Suns (2 units)

Pheonix may have home court but they are not playing good basketball right now. The suns are 1-4 SU & ATS in their last 5 games. They are also 3-9 ATS their last 9 games overall.

Pheonix is a poor rebounding team, with a small & soft front line. I expect the Lakers to take control and dominate the frontcourt with their size advantage. After the Lakers' embarrassing 104-85 loss at home to Memphis, coach Phil Jackson said 'his players didn't take the responsibility on themselves to play better' as the crowd at the Staples centre booed their team off the court.

The 'wildcard' in Los Angeles' season is Andrew Bynum who has played 11 games since his off-season knee surgery and is gradually progressing in terms of match fitness. He blocked 5 shots against the Grizzlies and is becoming a more influential player for the lakers the closer he gets to regaining full fitness.

The Lakers responded well last night as they dominated the Pistons at home and I fully expect them to carry the effort and momentum forward from that performance to tonight's game.

did you watch it? some crazy events at the end of the game, made it look rigged. Some awful calls by the officials against Boston, a couple of uncharacteristic turnovers from Boston players and Ray Allen, a very high percentage free-throw shooter misses both attempts with seconds left on the clock so Spurs covered the spread by 1..

I won't complain though ... until i'm on the recieving end of one
