Ok I'm trying to figure this one out. At my place the Lakers are -6.5 with -290 ML. On Saturday the Celtics were -2.5 with -145 ML. I've never really calculated the value of ML's, but -290 seems low? If I were to base the line off the previous game (-145 X 2=-290, and -2.5 X 2=5) it would seem this ML value is equivalent to Lakers -5. Is there any correlation to ML's and lines LB?

I have no doubt you know the NBA well, but this forum is about picking winners and making money. Game write-ups and analyses are great, but people don't respect or pay attention to you until you can prove that what you are saying translates into victories against the spread. I haven't been here that long either, but I know that LB and Paco are good at what they do and they have their records to back it up. When we start up fresh next year for the NBA and you pick and post your games throughout the course of a season and show that you really know what you're talking about, you'll have my respect and others as well.

I definitely don't think he's infallible or else he'd be hitting 100%. I guess I'm just tired of guys piling up on him because it seems like the 'thing' to do in here and it's been going on for a couple of months now. It's just stale at this point. I don't always agree with how he comes across because that's not my style. Even when I'm told a tennis match is going to be fixed somehow I'll say some sort of disclaimer because that's just the way I am. But I have noticed when people lay off the personal attacks and actually talk about the game itself or ask a question, no matter how noobish, he'll give you his opinion in a non-confronting way. You have to admit, it's basically been him against the majority of this thread for quite a long time now and while he brought on a lot of that himself, I think a lot of people would react the same way in his shoes. I'm surprised he actually still comes in here to be honest considering how people pick apart each word of his posts and deliberately misconstrue half of what he says just to try to get a laugh. They don't do their own legwork and research, but rather, follow the pack. Their money management and knowledge is poor, and so when they lose, they attack the guy who "should" be getting all of the games right for them. It's like cheating off someone in school. Problem is, GM is fairly arrogant to begin with, which doubles the angry reactions when/if he's wrong about something. Oh, from what I've seen he definitely has thick enough skin. It's not like he's asking me to defend him or anything. It just seems that every 2nd page of this thread is filled with Goat against the world kind of stuff. Even from people who later go to his thread praising him or PM'ing him for his plays.
