Line movement aside, I liked BOS +6.5 tonight early on....

However, I find it very suspicious that the line has not moved down to +6 despite a 60-40 split in public betting, nor has the Laker ML seen heavy action (rather, the Boston ML has dropped down to +235 from +260). The books are playing this game very tight, not willing to show their hand by reacting to incoming money. The only explanations I can think of are:

1) The balance of the money is being made up by Lakers series betting such that the books are more balanced overall than they appear (unlikely, IMO), or
2) They really like a Lakers cover tonight and are letting the public load up on the +6.5, not wanting to give anything away to LA backers by moving the line.

Looking at it right now, LA seems like the play in this game to me, along with the Under 189.5.

This is a specious manner of handicapping. Also, it's rather odd that you have to specify that you're talking about "(black athletes)", considering the prefacing of "African-American".

I assume you have other criteria for weighing this game.

A static line combined with unbalanced action (60-40) implies that the books are fine with the distribution of money. If they had no opinion, they would allow the line to move in an attempt to balance the money out.

Lakers it is tonight! I also like Paco's idea of taking Lakers for the series at -110. I feel that the Lakers will come out and make things happen tonight. No one is going to hold back and they will shoot freely since they are at home and get into the triangle offense more often. Defensively, they will continue to have problems covering Pierce, but they will have to limit Garnett to the jump shot and make Allen tired from running off screens so that his shot will be short. I'm positive Gasol will come out strong tonight after a very poor outing. No punches will be pulled tonight.

The only thing I'm worried about is if one or a few players on the Lakers feel that they need to force things tonight. That may lead to bad shots or trying to do things out of the norm. But, if that one player is Odom, then I don't mind. He needs to take his defender to the hole to try to get the and-1 and play with the attitude that he's going to get every rebound when he doesn't have the ball. He will be the difference maker in blowing the game wide open keeping the lead in double digits. But I'm not holding my breath here...he really hasn't shown up in this series yet. And I stress the YET...until tonight! Double-double for Odom in Game 6! BOL to everyone's plays...if it's on the Lakers! lol

yeah i agree...the more i think about this game the more i believe the lakers are the play...what transpired in boston the last 2 games just wont happen tonight IMO...im on the lakers -6 for 2x...good luck everyone on their play tonight..
