Guys, what are your thoughts on the Lakers/Thunder game. I really cant see the lakers covering here, i know that LB likes the Lakers. Im not sure if hes on the spread or ML but the thunder are playing great lately and the lakers have not been playing good.

I don't think many of the regulars are around at the moment because of the time so I'm not sure if you'll get many responses at the moment but for what it's worth here's mine: I think I'm going to stay away from this game unless I get some insight/read something to sway me to a side.

A large part of me believes that LA will step it up now that it's the playoffs and look to run the Thunder right out of town with a massive performance. The other part however watched them play like utter rubbish lately and while I know there were a lot of other factors involved as to what contributed to this, I still don't think I'm confident to make a decent size bet on the spread and the ML has no value.

Just want to see how they come out in this game - if they win it convincingly then I'll probably start to back them large.

Have you seen Goat's thread yet? He has a list of the points he wants to remember to keep in consideration when picking his play for this game.

If vertical ability really constitutes part of the discussion you'll need to include AFL players in this debate. I'm watching footy right now and they're jumping in the air like monkeys. I've seen three guys already jump either level to or higher than the head of the guys marking them and that happens on a consistent basis. Plus they're running on a field at least 150 metres long and 130 something metres wide, depending on where they play. It's massive. They're tackling without pads at full force too. Sure the sheer strength of the tackle may not be as strong as a 900 pound NFL'er, but then again, they're not tackling guys that size so it's all comparative. The NFL'er wouldn't even make it onto the field and if he did, the majority of them would be so damn slow compared to AFL players, he'd rarely get the opportunity to tackle as they could just outrun him.

Not saying they'd be the worlds best athletes but I think they're another sport with better pure athletes overall than the average NBA player in my opinion.

I'm gonna keep going trying to find games where i think the total is too low. Like ATL/MIL and DENVER/UTH yesterday. Just one jumps out today. Por/PHX Throw out that terrible shooting performance by both teams in March. 93-87 victory for the Suns. The other 2 games went over 204 (though not by a big margin) The Suns will win and it will be up tempo. This one goes over easily. Keep an eye on ATL/MIL game 2. 189?

i dont know about minority or anything like that but i said as soon as the matchups came out the thunder would get pounded. thunder are overhyped cause of durant- this team is no match for la. the laker bigs will scoop up all the rebounds and dominate the paint and the lakers will hit outside shots after being open cause of the pressure the thunder will have to guard the paint. lakers will make a statement today and the thunder wont be able to ahndle the defensive pressure la will bring.
