a "base bet" should be 1 unit.... If you "usually" bet 50 dollars per game then 1 unit = 50 bux.

It becomes a bit odd when you see someone wagering 50-100 "units" every day on multiple games. just my 2 cents... whatever makes ya happy I suppose.

Yeah, he's mentioned 1 unit = 10GBP. I get the impression most people increase their assigned 1 unit value to 50 or 100 as their bank roll grows. But kneighfe is keeping it consistent, flat.
