If we do this next season we ought to consider matching up those of us who do things other than only picking "to win" with the guys who only pick "to win". Some of those guys we put money on to win this week wouldn't have netted us much of a profit even if they had won since all the other money was tied up in "to win" bets as well. Does that make sense? For instance if Kyle won, I think we as a group still would have lost money.

It's just something I was thinking about. Not a big deal of course.

Personally I think it's best to let everyone do their own thing without any pressure to compliment your partner or take certain types of bets. Remember the pressure most of us felt the first time or two punting? Much better now everyone seems relaxed about their bets, and everyone elses.

Our diversity of strategy might end up being good over a full season too.

Know what you mean though... frustrating when we only have win bets and 2 longshots get up 2 races in a row.

Im open to playing however next year, but that Kyle bet was like insurance to me. Actually all 5 of my bets would have broke us about even (covering mine & Hawks $76) which in turn Allowed Hawk 4 free bets to give us a really nice payoff it they hit. So in my humble opinion it was be even or increase the payroll with 9 really good bets.

I'd keep the format the same. I think (assume) we all keep the weekly bankroll in mind when making our win bets. And then the parlays and H2H bets are bonus if we hit a win bet.

although I was thinking maybe we could have our own "chase playoff" for betting the last 10 races. we all get an equal # of races to bet for chase races 1-7, the top 4 profit winners get to pick in race 8 or 9, and then the top 2 make the group picks for Homestead. something like that......just a thought

Very fair point. And to be clear my opinion wasn't based just on this past week or any one week. I don't want to make it seem like I was calling you out. That being said I'm happy how things are.

Hmmm... that does sound interesting.

Although the leaderboard thing we had for the first 7 races wasn't really that 'nice'. I was very glad to be rid of it at the 8th race personally.

I don't think Ambrose feels it is justified to take big risks to sit on pole on a road course. As he thinks he can win from anywhere. JG has the 4th best quali record here (after Smoke, JJ and Hamlin) and has more reason to go for it. Anyway, I thought +125 for JG to take his 5th pole here was the value against Ambrose -155 to finally take his first.

As mentioned, Smoke has the best quali record here, whilst Harvick has never qualified top 5 and hasn't managed a top 10 start since 2007.

And whilst Carl qualified on pole last year, I think it's much more difficult to set up two road course cars for the same track on the same weekend than it is on ovals. Plus Denny has a much better historical quali record, and a lot more reason to want it this weekend than Carl.

ESPN announced NASCAR said Kenseth 14th and Junior 15th... but website does not reflect that yet, and 5 Dimes graded it a loss. Will chase them up after official results are posted if they don't fix it.

Will update results when sorted. We did well though.... would have been an awesome day if Denny could have kept his car on the track. That top 5 was looking very realistic before he wrecked.
