Talladega Results
15 players this week = 30 points added to the prize pool. Now 250 points.
With 5 of last week's top 6 scoring 2 or less points this week the leaderboard has really contracted. Dew manages to cling onto top spot, but we now have 12 players within 5 points of the lead.
Leadfootfred continues his rise up the rankings with another top score, meaning he has got 3 races winners and 2 game wins in the last 4 races!
Onlooker is obviously still being punished for making us all look bad in last year's comp. (but nothing a couple of 5s won't fix still)

Oh well, donating four points to this. I couldn't enter every week because sometimes I don't get the chance and sometimes my choices are taken. I see we have a week off before Richmond.

You are still in with a chance if you played each week from now. With the 3 worst results dropped rule, you are probably only at a 5 or 6 point disadvantage to those that have played every week. In real terms.
And even playing irregularly you have a shot at most race winners picked. Should be about 200 points.

It's getting tight at the top! Dew relinquishes the lead to ATP and StanleySharp with BTH right up their clackers.

The late starter takeover continues with Yisman winning with 5 from 5 and Luvtogamble putting in another 4.
Not much movement at the top, apart from ATP kicking away to a clear 1 point lead.

ATP consolidates his lead with another solid week. BTH picks back up all the positions he lost last week with a big fat 5. And Yisman is now snapping at the heels of the main pack, who had 6 weeks start on him, with his 2nd 5 in a row.

3rd race in a row where the group has averaged over 3... we are getting better! (although no one has picked a race winner in those 3 races)
No one could pick the winner (or any driver in the top 10 just about), and no one could hit 5, but nine players did all hit 4.
Those of us that didn't have been shuffled down the order this week.

No one picked Brad K to win... 4th race in a row.

Our season long leader missed making picks this week, letting Rickie jump up to joint leadership, and leaving 5 players within 5 points of top spot again with just 1 race to go until the halfway point of the season.
And I get my 2nd race winner, finally!

3 of our main contenders, including our ex-runaway leader, seem to have disappeared. So with ATP, Soxwin and YPA all missing picking for the last 2 or 3 races we now have a whole new, and tight, leaderboard! (so I guess it's good in a way)
5 of us picked Kyle to win, including LeadFootFred who now jumps out to a clear lead with 4 winners.
We are now halfway through the season. Here is the current standings with the 3 worst results removed.
And here is the leaderboard for most winners picked.

Rickie comes back from that 'stumble' with his first weekly win of the year, and a 5 to extend his lead at the top once again.
StanleySharp and LeadFootFred were the stumblers this week, allowing the chasing pack to catch up to the minor prize contest a little.

tough beat BTH, I knew you were even with me on matchups and it was between biffle and edwards - i think biff was ahead there at the end with single digit laps to go before carl made the pass - exciting, i got pretty lucky, it was close.

You're in good shape. We can miss up to 3 weeks over the season without it making any difference to the final score.
Right now Rickie will lose 5 points, LFF -2 points, Me - 4 points and StanleySharp - 2 points... whereas you have none to be taken off... so right now you are actually in 2nd place just 1 point behind Rickie. (with LFF and SS 1 point behind you, and me 1 point behind them)

Watkins Glen Results
17 players = 34 points added to prize pool. Now 732 points.
The Total shown in the spreadsheet now includes the worst 3 results being taken away.So the order is correct for end of year standings as of this week.
Plenty of 4s and a 5 this week, but all at the lower end of the table. Biggest news is BTH climbing back to the top of the table to join Rickie in the equal lead.
Luvtogamble and I picked our 4th race winner of the year to join Leadfootfred leading that chase.

I think your shooting too low Yis. If you had played Sonoma you would be in 6th already.
And seriously, if you string together three or more 4s and 5s like you did for a while there, you will be up in the mix for a place at least.
Don't forget we have lost 3 or 4 top contenders for one reason or another so far too. Never know what might happen before Nov 20.

Oh yeah I forgot about that.
Poll: How does everyone feel about the second tie breaker rule? Would you prefer us to split the prize on a tie?
Personally I think it's good to make sure we have a single winner, so the prize is always as large as possible. And think the second tie breaker rule is fair because early posters make their picks with less information. Plus I can't think of another simple final tie breaker...
Yisman might like to give us the case against it?
Any other comments welcome too. (please give us a Yay, Nay or don't care response if you play regularly)
*will also ask in thsi weeks game thread.

well, if you don't want to split it, you could pick props from 5 Dimes that have close to even odds and post them as additional tiebreakers, ensuring that everyone has different picks.
