Haven't got the best of numbers but I see this game total being > 50, so sticking with it but playing it small.

South Sydney have been struggling in attack big time with only 13 in the past 2 weeks. I think they'll look to rectify that and against a side that is really look like they're using all their energy in attack, I can see a high scoring game here.

Two teams that will be playing finals footy and play a grinding style of footy when playing against finals-bound sides. Except this to be a low scorer, possibly in the high 20's/low 30's so playing this for 5 units.

2* Brisbane vs Penrith UNDER 43.5 WON

Brisbane's attack has been horrendous and know the only way they're gonna be able to make the finals is to win games on the back of their defense. Penrith are a side that like to adapt to their opponent's playing style. So expecting a grind initially, before the broncos pull away in a relatively low scoring, game total should be in the mid-high 30's.

2* Newcastle vs South Sydney OVER 41.5 LOSS

Too much talent in this South Sydney team playing against a Newcastle side that are going to be playing a lot more freely now that they're out of finals contention. Given a modest total of 41.5, I think this goes over the total. Expecting the game total to be in the mid-high 40's.

Warriors have been dismal and it's no coincidence that Mannering was out during this horrific period. He's back this week and the warriors are a completely different team with him on the ball park. Also this is Luck's last game so I don't expect New Zealand to give up like they have the past few weeks. Canberra are officially through to the finals next week and I think their shift in style/transition from all out attack to grinding out defensive game is gonna be on show again as they get ready themselves for finals footy. I think both teams will come to play and have this game total in the low 40's.

2* Cronulla vs North Queensland UNDER 41.5 LOSS

Canberra have learnt to play slow, grinding footy but let's be honest, that's not really their game. Their game is to play expansive, exciting and attacking footy. And with Canberra's aggressive style, Cronulla don't have a choice but to play to that tempo especially if they're down early in the game. Still don't know who wins this but I think a lot of points will on offer today, and my model has this game in the mid-high 40's making this a 3* special.

One last play to end the NRL season. Let's hope we end the season on a high. Think Canberra takes care of Wests in the battle of attack vs defence and I think the Bulldogs Storm will be a tight, close and low scoring game similar to the dogs manly game week 1 finals. History of grand finals also suggests we are in for a low scoring game unless it's a thrashing, which i can't see especially between the two best teams by far this season.
