Would set a number on the Hawks for you guys, but I can't set something high enough that would entice you. Hawks are a solid play here. -6.5 or better. I'm holding sprinklings at -5.5 and -6.

Hawks aren't a top 4 team this year but have a more solid roster than the dreadful Kings. They should win by double digits. The Gold Coast's Adrais Deleon was one of the best players in the NBL last year and should prove an excellent addition to the Hawks.

That's it for today's NBL. The total has dropped to 164.5, but it doesn't worry me.

A disappointing start to the season. NBL is going to be tough this year. Already we're seeing sharper numbers and parity amongst teams.

I'll re-evaluate after this round as to whether it's worth it to keep going or just focus on the NBA. Don't want to bury anyone following the thread if my motivation isn't there to cap this league.

36ers are shaping up as possible Grand Finalists this year. They were outstanding in the pre-season and should roll to a big win to kick off their campaign. Even though 6.5 is a tough number it's worth a shot - no way I'd take the Tigers.

Solid cash on the Taipans last night. Apart from the scoring drought to open they 4th they are a good looking team. Much more weapons than previously. Tragardh had a big preseason and his game looks like it has gone to a new level.


Crocs will be a different team with Ervin. Their other import is pretty washed up but Ervin should be good.

Tigers looked set for a road win, but the Kings reeled them in for an 82-85 score to cash the first play. But terrible shooting killed the over by half time with the Hawks grinding out a 68-58 win against the Taipans.

The Crocs are desperate to avoid a 0-2 start to the season but the Wildcats simply outclass them in every category you can think of. I'll take the best team in the comp at these odds any day. It's almost a no-brainer play. But it's always tough for road teams in the NBL so 2 units is the max risk for me today.

I agree this looks pretty obvious. Only concern is perth have racked up major travel lately - they played in Broome in stupid heat two weeks ago, then to NZ last week and now to Townsville.

Hopefully Friday to Sunday is long enough for them to be fresh and ready to go.

I think they'll get it done today. Next 3 games are on the road as well: Melbourne Tigers, Wollongong Hawks & Adelaide 36ers. It's a crazy schedule, but the 36ers are the only team with a chance to beat them.

Taipans road double sees them visit to the Sydney Kings, with the Adelaide 36ers tomorrow night. I'm expecting them to be too strong for the inconsistent Kings in a high scoring game.

It's near impossible to win 2 road games back to back in the NBL. Players lack the conditioning for b2bs & Taipans have little hope against the 36ers (who got hammered by the Breakers last week). They'll have to settle for a 1-1 split in Round 3. Maybe they'll try to get a big lead against the Kings to rest their starters in the 4th quarter. So it'll be interesting to see how this game plays out.

Taipans win 88-68, cashing both plays. Too easy! As expected they led from start to finish. Kings were set to bury the over, but then a late comeback + a meaningless 3 pointer ensured a sweep for the night.
