why is the cfl more high scoring than the nfl? most games so far seem to nudge 50 points - with one topping 100, i believe.

CFL is more high scoring because of the bigger field. its sooo wide open and just waiting for big plays. its a passing league and makes it so exciting. i am surprised at how many over have cashed, only 2 unders in 8 games!

power rankings after week 2:

1. SK(SAME) 2. MTL(SAME) 3. CGY(+1) 4. BC(-1) 5. WPG(SAME) 6. TOR(+2) 7. EDM(SAME) 8. HAM(-2)

SK offence was amazing again. SK defence looks like it may be for real, absolutely man-handled BC offense. BC defence got shredded
MTL seems to have a number of questions, and really EDM lost this game themselves. EDM is struggling mightily. MTL's defence looked bad again...
CGY barely wins against a bad opponent, again. wow that game was awful. too bad it was on nfl network, week after the amazing season opener. CGY had nothing going on offence, and burris is a bum. guy just loves turnovers. HAM stinks. bigtime. like so damn smelly. both offences were putrid. gross.
WPG will bounce back from this loss. i saw alot of positives, especially on offense. major kudos to TOR. played a solid game, and the more i see the man play, the more im liking cleo lemon.

right now im looking at the under 49.5. but im not sold. CGY stinks and cant finish. TOR had the great win last week, but are still a work in progress.
i'll keep looking at it and will have some stuff figured out soon

Haven't made a full decision on tmr's game but I am liking CGY at -6.0. And I love WPG at +3.5 and ML. I'll have some more stuff tonight.

CGY/TOR UNDER 49.5 @1.91(1.5x)

havent decided on the game itself yet, but think that 2 stinky offences will stay under. im starting to think that TOR should be able to cover, but not sold just yet.

CGY cant finish, struggled with TOR in game 1, and barely beat HAM in week 2. the entire offence just cant score. burris is scary out there right now. the defence has held up...against the 2 worst offences in the league.
TOR has a poplar defence: they bend but dont break. it scares me that one of these days the d is due to give up some big points. the offence got a whole lot better last week, but still dont get many yards, and dont possess the ball long enough.

TOR will be coming off a huge emotional win on the road, and CGY is playing on 5 days rest. think TOR can get up for there home opener, even if the crowd is small...

with that i'll consider and post a pick at somepoint...

Offence-
CGY is 3rd with 896. TOR is 8th with 542.

CGY is 4th with 548 against. TOR is 7th with 690 against.
Rush D-
CGY is 1st with 153 against. TOR is 6th with 323 against.
Defense-
CGY is 2nd with 701 against. TOR is 7th with 1013 against.

it looks so simple...but its not. CGY has not played as well as these numbers show. and anyone that has watched them can attest to that. they are playing under where they should be right now. i think the numbers are a little off because had TOR's offence played the same in game 1 versus CGY as they did last week, things would be alot more even for both.

these may be the more telling stats. TOR is making the most out of there small offensive numbers, and are holding on defense. CGY should have more points on offence. HAM put up some pretty big yards on that CGY defense and thats why i say CGY's d numbers are a little skewed.

im still working on a spread play for tmr. brain says take CGY, heart is telling me otherwise. both coming off emotional close victories. CGY really not playing where i think they should be. wonder if TOR can keep it close...

Hi TKAT. Firstly I want to congratulate you on two fine weeks of CFL capping to get the season underway. Very well done and here's hoping the winning continues right on through to Grey Cup Sunday.
Now my thoughts are centered on your liking for the Bombers and the +3.5 points they're getting on the road against Hamilton in week 3.
Should we not expect the Tabbies to have a bounce back game, after dropping last week's game to Calgary 23-22, considering they'll be playing their second home game in succession?
Add to that the fact they may also have a sense of revenge on their plate following the week one 49-29 thrashing they suffered out in Winnipeg?
Based on these two factors do you think it's still too much to ask for Hamilton to cover the -3.5 points against Winnipeg this coming week?

as i see it right now, the tabbies just plain stink. last week was the bounce back game, and they gave it away. glenn put up much better numbers, but they have zero run game. they cant expect to score special teams td's every game, so unless they get cobb going i see them in trouble. there defense improved from week 1 but they currently sit dead last in rushing yards allowed, and are facing the 2nd best rushing team thus far in WPG. i see buck pierce having his 3rd straight big game, on the ground and through the air. and ive liked what i have seen from the WPG defense. i think its WPG that has the bounce back game.

only my opinion, but i see a team that had a let down last week, but has still looked alot more complete than HAM.

everything ive been looking at leads me to CGY covering. i see a win by a touchdown. if TOR pull this off, then they are alot more for real then i thought. that defence cant keep giving up the yardage they are...one of these games there going to get lit up. and CGY is going to score some points one of these games.
