Guys I just want to say something...DONT underestimate Newcastle and it wont suprise me at all seeing them in the top 8 this year. They're a gutsy team that play with alot of heart and passion. The worst team this year, so far is Sharks followed by souths then Brisbane.

You wont find that kind of (guaranteed) return anywhere! Anyway, the book that I found offering MVP were a shonky site so I didnt press forward with bet, no other books were offering MVP.

The next big bet for me will be on NSW to win SOG series, Im hoping for even money, I'll be playing them at least 3k.

I think you will get +Even on NSW this year and I also think they will win the series this year. If they had of allowed the Hayne try in game one I think NSW would of gone on to win game 1 and the series. I think the NSW forwards will have the edge on QLD this year and between the Morris bros and Jarryd Hayne we should be able score enough points. I love the thinking about putting money down now on a longer term sports investment. I think the vast majority of sports betters are the degernerate looking for a quick buck type of individual. I started out that way and am looking to get away from that and put funds into the most +EV places possible. If you have any longer term plays definitely let us know either here or a new thread as any help is greatly appreciated!

First picks that stand out for me are manly to beat warriors, even though they are away I think manly will be too strong. Also roosters to beat broncos by quite a bit.

With the injuries to broncos the roosters look like the of the week but it is still early in the season. After watching sharks on Monday they are the worst side in the comp and I've been waiting for parra to come out and really turn it on this might be there game where they do that.

Agreed. Also concerned about parra not showing up to play, they were completely flat last week, its a bit of a guessing game trying to figure out which team will show up. Combine that with the sharks trying to avoid the worst losing record, sharks should put in a much better effort. But after how they played last week, hard to expect them to win even against a flat parramatta.

Yes I was directing the question to you heh. Im thinking of taking the ML of 1.71 (bookmaker.com) for Melbourne. I know the Dragons have been playing well, but they have not beaten the Storm at home since 1999 I believe? Ah well, I probably might just avoid all together.

Yeah Parra are worrying me a little at the moment. I love Hayne he can tear any team apart when he wants to and has the best side step in the game they just dont look interested right now, lets hope that changes this weekend. Im going to get on parra giving them an absolute hiding, it's coming just depends what week so i'll have a crack this game. Souths looked terrible 2h last week maybe coz they were in front by so much but still looked bad making horrible errors. Think I'll be on the dogs but just straight up. BOL

After watching these two teams so far, I get the impression manly will play a similar game to last week against the knights, pressuring the warriors with their defence and forcing a lot of errors, cutting down their second phase play. I know the warriors aren't playing too bad, but I think its a bit deceptive, last two games against cronulla and a brisbane team that couldn't defend or apply pressure to save their lives. Just my opinion, but wanted to see what others think before I put quite a bit down on them. I just can't see manly being outplayed like brisbane where last week, but maybe i'm missing something with this game .... wouldn't be the first time the warriors catch me out

The biggest factor for me here is Warriors at home and Manly travelling, although I think Manly do have a descent record over there, I'm still not willing to risk big $$$ on whether or not they travelled well and are prepared to win.

warriors have that habit of there's of failing under pressure but I was really leaning towards them until I saw the two injuries for warriors. Manly have a great record at mt smart and playing well so it's manly for me. I haven't seen the line but around -3.5 on pyol is what I'll be on
