#6661Mikemca - nice write-up and nice picks by you today. You were playing with house money as the day went along and that is the best! Hope you did little box with AP in the Belmont to sweeten that moment.
BTW, did not want to say it earlier but we had alot of the same horses today.... did not think anyone else would have my picks in the Manhattan but you had them(plus I had TwiEclps strong) Great day for horseracingComment -

I get an uneasy feeling when someone likes the same horses I do. Point being that the way i usually win is having the ones no one else sees.

#6667wow...nice stats by the way..................................... ........................................ ........................................ .......................
Some crazy shyt going on this Belmont meet between the big 3 of Pletcher , McLaughlin , and C Brown
Pletcher has 19 winners from 39 starters for a 49% strike rate!!!
C Brown a little unlucky with only 15 winners from 53 starters (28%) considering his 23 other runners that hit the board but didn't win , that's 38 of 53 ITM 72%.
McLaughlin 10 for 29 winners for a solid 34%.
Combined they're 87 for 121 ITM or about 72%
Break it down even further to just dirt races and it gets even more absurd where they're 44 for 54 ITM winning at about 44% with Chad Brown 12 for 14 or 86% and Pletcher 20 for 23 or 87%.
It used to be turf was the place to play against Pletcher but he seems to have figured that out 6 for 16 (38%) - 11/16 ITM 69% which kind of looks lame considering the numbers on dirt. That just shows how unreal these guys have been.
Mclaughlin 25% and 56% ...C Brown 28% and 67% on turfComment -

25% federal withholding on reportable cashed tickets above $5000.
Currently reportable tickets are based on 300-1 times the individual wager, in this case 50 cents. In reality you bet $480 to collect $11349, or 22-1, but the government sees a 22000-1 windfall winner instead. There have been recent petitions to the Treasury Dept. to change their interpretation of what constitutes 300-1.Comment -

FL r6 - CARRIO (10-1) - W.ROHENA rides and hopefully there is enough speed to keep BATTLE NOTES busy on the front-end. Anything near 10-1 is a steal.

#6683Big day Saturday ...First run through , may change a pick or two but pretty firm on most
Belmont
Race 1
Pretty sure 3-Ready Dancer 5-2 is a good one for Pletcher to be debuting him on a day like this and in great shape for TAP to run him now instead of waiting a few weeks when he begins his 2 year old tour de force at the Spa. Doesn't seem like a good race to bet with fave 4-Paynes Prairie 8-5 and 3rd choice 2-Dalmore 7-2 the likely alternatives. Will be surprised if 2 of those 3 don't make up the exacta. If I had to play I'd try 2-Dalmore who figures to improves a ton off promising debut 2 weeks ago and should be best price of the 3. 2-3-4
Race 2
At least in race 1 there are 3 standouts so the betting will be spread out a little , this race you have 6-Elraazy 8-5 who admittedly got the perfect set up in his debut and the race fell into his lap. Still ran well enough to be very tough with any improvement which McLaughlin is a master at. Could box him with some OK prices 2-Manhatta 8-1 and 1-Predicate 10-1 who come out of the same race which was off a layoff for both. Trainers of the two very good 2nd time off bench and if the 1 gets back to his best or the 2 improves in only 5th start either one could challenge if the 6 is off just a little or runs into trouble somehow.6-2-1
Race 3
Very vulnerable faves here with a 1 for 17 fave and 4 for 24 2nd choice who have 18 place and shows between them. So they like to run well without winning usually. The lightly raced trio of 3-Rock Eagle 5-1 , 8-Bigger Picture 8-1 , and 9-Dujac 4-1 imo is where the winner will come from. With the 2 faves consistently hitting the board it is hard to just box the 3,8,9 so not sure how to bet this one. Maybe just a WIN bet on Rock Eagle as he has the most positives with draw , drop in class and distance , and Raj usually gets live ones from B Tagg. While C Brown may not have thought much of the 9 taking him to Monmouth to break his maiden and the 8 hasn't proven himself outside claiming ranks on turf. 3-8-9/6-5
Race 4
Another boring looking race with 4-Samraat 9-5 , 5-Matrooh 2-1 , and 6-Mail 4-1 being the top 3 choices and the 3 also have a pace advantage so they could run 1-2-3 around the track. The way the card starts with a lot of logical contenders makes it hard to bet. Pick 5 starting Race 1 could be way to go trying to beat faves Race 3 and get to race 5 with a bunch of horses covered as that is the first wide open race imo. Maybe 3x1x3x2x whatever you can afford race 5 and then another ticket with less coverage using the 1 and 2 in race 2.4-5-6
Race 5
Will never understand why dirt horses get the same respect 1st time turf as the favorite does here. Sure he has 6 fast races but they are all on dirt and Albertrani not especially good 1st turf. I like the 12-Brickyard Kitten 8-1 hoping Johnny V can work out a trip without dropping too far back from far outside. Has never tried 7f and looks like it's right up his alley. Also going from the extreme outside to the extreme inside I think 1-Sandy'z Slew 10-1 is live. Both 3rd off layoff with progressive figures. Like 2-Seagate 5-1 as the 3rd for ex box . Would want to be as deep as possible if I bet Pick 5. Trips could determine winner in this one and that means most of the field is in play. 12-1-2
Race 6
We get to the first of the six graded stakes . 3-Super Saks 15-1 has a huge pace edge and could go as fast or slow as J Graham pleases. Hard to trust after she coughed up the lead time after time the last several stakes races she tried on dirt but not sure she has had a set up like this. I prefer 6-Miss Ella 4-1 to the fave Enchanting Lady as the most likely winner. One option is to just box these three and another is to toss the fave and throw in 5-Irish Jasper 6-1 who ran down Super Saks among other in winning the G3 Miss Preakness last out. 6-3-2/5
Race 7
IMO this is a play against Texas Red race. Coming back favored in a race with a bunch of lightly raced horses with loads of potential solely on his win in the BC Juvenile. Pletcher has a strong hand with 1-Blofeld 7-2 and 3-Tommy Macho 4-1 but 6-Speightster 3-1 has upside to be the best 3 year old outside Pharoah with the way he has crushed his first 2 starts. May not want much more than a mile but the 1 turn configuration at Belmont should help. 6-3-1 box could pay around $30 if I can beat Texas Red. Possibility of rain and if the track gets sloppy/muddy that could bring Bridget's Big Luvy 15-1 into the picture.6-3-1-2
Race 8
This race sure is a puzzler. On paper Bolo is a standout and 7-2 should be jumped at but the huge figure he got last out he was the 1-5 fave and just about every horse in this race is classier or has faced classier competition by far. All his wins have come on the lead or dueling for the lead. Think he will find at least a couple in here that will run him down. Anyone that has read my posts knows I am a big fan of Cristophe Soumillion and he comes all the way over here from France to ride 4-Canndal 8-1 for one of the best trainers over there. This horse is live and the only race he has had on firm ground he won "comfortably". Would be fine just playing him to win. The other invader 7-Postulation 10-1 has the Weld/Smullen connection and they are like Johnny V/Tap of Ireland winning at close to 25% over there. Hard to think they would travel all this way without thinking they had the winner. Taking the imports may be risky without much info like you have on US runners but it's a fact they are just better at these distances on turf. That is all they breed for while that is all we don't breed for. Of the Americans I'll try 1-Takeover Target 5-1 with the cozy draw and improved substantially all 3 starts. Another one here which is also 3rd off layoff would compete. Those 3 would be fine , if trying to throw in a bomb 6-Closing Bell 20-1 would be it. Improved almost 30 points from start 1 to start 2 and if he prefers turf the improvement in start 3 would make him playable in every slot. 4-7-1-6
Race 9
Is going to be very hard to beat 6-Tonalist as his 3-5 ml suggests. He was unlucky to run into maybe the race of the year out of Honor Code in the Met. The only horse I could see challenging would be 3-Mylute 5-1 who is making 2nd start in Pletcher barn and he will get the most out of this horse who was everyones upside horse just about every triple crown race in his run. Could try to beat Coach Inge with 1-Street Babe 20-1 in the exacta but this is likely the Tonalist show with a small chance Mylute spoils. 6/3,1 box
Race 10
More Euro imports but we might have something for them here. Looking at the pace figs I was drooling over 4-Itsonlyactingdad 20-1 and 5-Miss Chatelaine 30-1 until I watched the replay. 2-Lady Eli 2-1 won that race in little more than a jog hardly being urged at all. Could still see those bombs finding there way into Tris and Supers but hard to see them reversing form enough over Lady Eli unless she has major trouble. Aside from 10-Outstanding 6-1 and 8-Olorda 8-1 the price I want is 11-Sentiero Italia 15-1. Had trouble getting going in debut then won wire to wire then won off the pace in thrid start. Extremely progressive in 3 starts and versatile to find good trip from post 11. A million ways to play this race. 2-10-11-8 box looks good to me but if you get into straight exotics I could see 2,10,11/2,8,10,11/2,4,5,8,10,11 or several other ways. I do think the extra distance brings out the best in the bombs 4 and 5 and Soumillion picks up the mount for Pletcher on the 4. He is one of those jocks who moves horses up when he gets on first time so expecting a big jump just not sure Lady Eli doesn't do the same. I like too many horses this race.
Race 11
3-Private Zone 8-5 is just scary at 7f. He seems to be able to run pedal to the medal start to finish at this distance while running some of the fastest early fractions of any horse running. The thing is his trainer J Navarro is a shady mofo who does almost all his
like most shady trainers in the claiming ranks , specifically first off the claim. So who knows if Private Zone is going to mysteriously have an "off" day. Plus 4-Green Gratto 15-1 has plenty of early speed too. Those two could put on quite a show through the first 4 furlongs if the duke it out. 1-Bay Of Plenty's 6-1 four wins all came on the lead too and the horse is 4 for 8 . Irad Ortiz has only ridden the horse 4 times and is 4 for 4. Have to think something has to give but could see the argument boxing 1-3-4 . The Big Beast has ran monster races and the pace seems to play right into his hands but he hasn't beaten a field like this and 7-2 ml seems a bit light considering. Clearly Now 5-1 who seems to disappoint 9 out of 10 times actually ran the race of his life winning this race last year and the pace also play to him. He has burnt me too many times to have any confidence in him. Which leaves me with 8-Moonlight Song 20-1 to end the day with a bomb. C Baker is excellent at revving them up to fire right off the bench. Outside post could have him in perfect position right behind the 1-3-4 and in the 2 path outside of The Big Beast. Definitely confused about the last 2 races. Hoping the track gives me some clues during the first 9 races.8-3-1-4 for nowComment -

Hoping the track gives me some clues during the first 9 races.8-3-1-4 for nowComment
