Yeah bruised foot...Going to see if they can work on it and see how he gallops tomorrow morning...Definitely a cause for concern but I'd bet their are at least 10 horses in the field with some sort of minor problem that no one but trainer/vet know about.

Just seems like K McLaughlin's year to me plus Frosted is one of the best horses in the field. Dortmund and Firing Line have been battling all year. My bomb since El Kabeir scratched is Bolo. Under the radar trainer and a jock that can save ground.

with good trip american pharoah romps, with a bad trip he wins with ease

dortmund just might be forgotten after todays race, have a feeling another horse might emerge but not a threat to pharoahs run to the triple crown

american pharoah 1-5 in preakness and 1-9 in belmont will make the 2-1 or so today look like a gift

baffert derby disappointments of bodemeister and to an extent bayern exorcised today

Trying to stay bullish on Frosted here, throwing in Danzig Moon to mix...also putting AmPharo and Mubtaj on top of these for small tri - a little Tencendur and Mr Z in 3rd and 4th slots. At the end of day will realize I just should have put bankroll on a show bet for Dortmund and just double my money that way!

I'm still rooting for Pharoah but think he may have trouble with the Belmont if he even makes it there. Seems kind of frail .

Tri payout was due to the odds. Here was the Humana (Race 7) order of finish:

Win - #3 Dame Dorothy (5:2)
Place - #8 Judy the Beauty (1:1)
Show - #6 Moonlit Stroll (18:1)

$2 Exacta paid a meager $16.20 due to both favorites coming in. $2 Trifecta paid $185.60 due to the 18:1 horse hitting the board.

In the Derby, the order of finish was:

Place - #10 Firing Line (9:1)
Show - #8 Dortmund (4:1)

Here a $2 Exacta paid a nice $72.60 due to the 9:1 horse (Firing Line) hitting the board. A $2 Trifecta bet paid $202 because of the slightly chalky 4:1 Dortmund. Had any other horse besides Dortmund came in 3rd, it could've been a monster trifecta.... Firing line (9:1) finishing ahead of Dortmund is the horse that actually boosted the trifecta payout....
