#306just feel it's important for anyone following to know and believe many of you realize this anyway .. my primary focus is to make the right long term decisions rather than make this a profitable sample but certainly i hope it is .. when you are following someone over a period of time the logic should be that you feel he has a better,no pun, chance of winning than someone who has less skills..it would conservatively require ar minimum many 1000's of plays with the avg odds and variances involved to determine how good a handicapper someone is ..definitive conclusions should not be drawn over a 400+ race sample ..this is especially true for someone whose plays go off at higher than avg oddsComment -

Guru plays 3 dimensional chess VS the computer, his horse playing strategy seems to prove this.

#309JBEX see your points. But I will take it one step further. You would need years of tracking to see how a handicapper does over the long haul. I would assume You have posted thousands of plays over your 12 year career here at SBR. If we were Tracking that we would have a good idea on how you fared long term. However this exercise is a mini tally to see how you do over about a 6 month period. A fun way to play considering most of your posted action is like mine mythical. It gives those reading a chance to see if you are hot or cold and proceed accordingly. So far you are doing well. Keep it going. THX.
I feel over a large sample I am not profitable..too many plays, not able to see how horses are bet a large majority of the time..no observation of biases and trips etc (doesn't end there) ..too many things to leave out to be profitable not to mention the ridiculous takeComment -

#310yes that's basically what it is ..a 6 month sample ..but how I do over the course of it is secondary to me ..not gearing things to give myself a better chance to show a profit by playing lower avg odds horses
