easy...look at the brisnet "fast" and "distance" ratings for the winner of the last race at gulfstream yesterday..compared to the others he's the best and I think I understand why or at least part of the reason why.. it's the spi of "tale of the cat" out of a "malibu moon" dam.. high class and lower average winning distance vs other combos in this field.. it's not that the awd is really low but the types of runners these 2 get win more money at these shorter distances than most or all of the other lower spi stallions

Yeah took a look. The only other horse close to the 12 Catana's Edge in breeder ratings was the 4 horse Xiroma. The 12 scored at 22/1. Makes sense on what you write is the reason.
