Just google him, he is a handicapper at Del Mar. And he worked there since 1993, and I never paid attention to that.

Yeah John Lies posts on the DMR site his top 3 selections. Good writeups. Usually read his opinion along with Frank Scatoni for DMR. Lies is also the track announcer for Kentucky Downs.

I guess I never paid attention to the announcers. Usually too busy reading the form. The only “announcer” I like is Trever Denman. He is the best race announcer ever, imo. No one announces like he does.

Yeah Agree Denman one of the best. Some of the old time announcers were really good. Do not know his name but the Arlington Park announcer who called the Arlington Million when John Henry scored. Sometimes watch the race videos of some of the classic races. One of them was Tom Durkin in the 2004 Belmont stakes. Great call.
