#212R1 #6 non finisce mai (5-2)
________
R2 #1 entry (4-1)
both parts and the 1 one of those expensive rel/ped types.. fts
___________
R4 #2 scatjack (8-1) play 46
fts scat daddy out of stakes placed gone west mare.. nice ped.. not an ex/ped horse
___________
R5 #3 overdramatic (8-1)
described some of the things I like in my ? in str thread
R8 #3 super allison (8-1)
3rd off 9 month layoff and her last reminds me of the sprint race she ran in the bouwerie (nyb stakes) where she dropped and stretched next out to win..this a move this trainer excels at and carlos martin having an excellent saratoga so far..ran in a nyb stakes here last year and had a troubled trip ..at least 2 horses came out of that race to repeat
R9 #4 eucalyptus (12-1)
same trainer as R5 and similar mo..long layoff, horse who showed talent in limited starts last year..lrl works including last over training track here and 1st start for this trainer... clm 40k n2L seems like a good spot for him and admittedly would feel bad if he won and I didn't have itLast edited by JBEX; 08-14-17, 12:49 PM.Comment -

R1 #1 kremlin (4-1)
similar cicumstances to big win 2 back..running line and two weeks exactly between races
R2 #7 d'ambrosio (5-2)
R4 #5 b three (15-1)
has beyers on dirt that fit vs these..think he'll benefit from last turf effort with cutback, drop and surface switch
R5 #10 ten eyck (8-1)
homebred fts has win early and turf pedigree ..outside posts do well at this distance
R6 #1 full salute (7-2)
R8 #1 rooftop view (20-1) play 47
horse seems to be back in shape after 2 non-efforts..back numbers from last year would get it done here..trainer has excellent roi's in many categories that apply

#219R1 #1 friend of liberty (6-1)
back in 4 days off the claim (if he's not scratched) and trainer 8/24 first off.. jumping up to 32k from 20k claiming..has back numbers that get it done here.. biggest concern is assmussen dropped her to 20k off a 50k clm two back.. have a hunch that was just to get a win up there but could be a negative for sure.. finished 2nd by a neck having a wide trip last out
R2 #8 saratoga colonel (2-1)
R5 #3 paynter's prize (15-1) play 48
first year sire paynter (20k) could really motor.. dam was a stakes winner and has 1 winner from as many starters.. the dpi for that runner was very high so even though he wasn't a stakes winner must have been a decent runner.. trainer having a great meet and gets jose ortiz.. may get a little lost in here with some of the other big peds, trainers and others who've run decent alreadyLast edited by JBEX; 08-17-17, 01:30 PM.Comment -

think this is a very weak field between pedigrees and the ones who've run.. like the pedigree on this one and the fact he's a newbieComment -

#223saratoga R5
surprised they let the huge pedigree'd clement firster go off 10-1..6-1 ml and I thought would be lower at post time.. nice $54 exacta with one of the two chalks who surrounded him for a $106 tripleComment -

#226R1 #2 undercutter (15-1)
could see this first time gelding waking up at this level.. comes in off almost a year layoff and had to deal with breaking from the rail in big fields two and three starts backs.. won in 2nd career race off 3 month layoff last year
R3 #5 empress of the nile (8-1)
R4 #3 chubby master (9-2)
last year..7/22 ..clm.. 25kn3l.. 6.5f..beyer 73..5th
back.. 8/18..clm 14kn3l..7f.. 2nd by half length
this year.. 7/23..clm 25k n3l.. 6.5f..beyer 72..5th
back today.. clm 14kn3l..7f..????
similar running lines
R5 #5 lemoona (6-1)
2yof msw turf 8.5f.. mott first timer by lemon drop kid (distance. turf).. cost 170k and for the info shown a lot of money.. not a ridiculous amount but definitely more than avg.. if it were belmont wouldn't pick but saratoga a different story..
R6 #8 mominou (15-1) play 49
combo ex/ped (slightly) speed pedigree and castellano rides for toner.. nice works
R9 #5 blue prize (6-1)
like the back class in argentina and both efforts here solid
R10 #6 outrageous bet (6-1)
has had extreme posts (inside or outside.. 1 post away I count) in his last 8 races..lands the 6 hole today.. seems to like turf sprinting
and placed reasonably here. this jock has won at big prices for this trainer.. solid work pattern including a bullet 3f at bel 3 days agoLast edited by JBEX; 08-20-17, 03:36 PM.Comment -

R9 #3 bankers holiday (8-1) play 50
guessing they've earned about 50-60k since the claim last year for 40k.. up for a 50k tag here and they'll be a 30k winner's share so like the math for running him here... if he's anywhere near his ability last year very capable vs these including a neck loss here with a very wide trip
at same distance.. what put it over the top for me is trainer joe sharp 9/32 with a big roi coming off an over 180 day layoff
chalky i knowLast edited by JBEX; 08-21-17, 01:52 PM.Comment -

#234R1 #5 miguel grau (15-1)
this would fall under my similar running lines lead to success angle..last line to me looks similar to 8/6 here
last year which was followed by a good 2nd at 10-1 at belmont (going 3/16 further also)..also similar to 4/23/16
line. .gonna give him a break on soft turf following that race and then won by just shy of 10 lengths after that at 10-1..trainer valentine goes back a long way with hurdlers
off the top of my head but 0/25 jock crimin..hmm not so much ..ehh have a little fun lol
R3 #6 elusive mischief (9-2)
75k stud out of a placed dam and first foal to race. .350k BIG BUCKS..already hit with 2yo fts by into mischief earlier this meet although that was dirt..cost about the same if I remember correctly. .solid works including a bullet 4f bg out of 57 works 2 back
other note : #9 devine entry (6-1) at 100k is also ex/ped. .by new sire point of entry (dynaformer turf) out of an elusive quality mare (turf speed)..jose ortiz.. who's that !! ha ha..linda riceLast edited by JBEX; 08-22-17, 06:07 PM.Comment -

#235R6 only opinion 256 should get you through 1st leg
R7 #9 red curls (30-1)
trainer, owner, breeder (lambholm is his)0/35 this year including 0/6 at this meet..like this filly as a bomb mainly cause of her pedigree. curlin out of a stakes winning forest wildcat mare who has only raced on turf so far..3rd off 2.5 month layoff and 2 turns should be ok with that sire
more later
R8 #5 renown (10-1) play 51
4 wins last year at 12f including a listed and grade 3 stakes among them.. respectable 3rd in this race last year.. same last race at delaware prior to coming here in 2016.. belmont gold cup at 2 miles a little much 2 back.. ran evenly back of the pack behind a slow pace
in last.. think he's going to be overlay here
R9 #7 cliffs of dover (10-1)
wide posts last 3 starts.. ran evenly last out off 8+ month layoff and comment was " rank restrained to back". in prior two starts was on the front end of a closers track (according to drf)... prior to that a win at saratoga on the turf.. blinkers added 6 back seems to have made a big difference with this gelding.. saez has had success riding for trainer 3/11..positive roi
R10 #7 nut nut (8-1)
wide trip breaking from 13 post last time and caught behind a slow pace 2 back.. all 2nd's 2-4 back. I'd take 8-1 in a heartbeat on this oneLast edited by JBEX; 08-23-17, 03:23 PM.Comment -
