there will surely be some horses out of this 2yo msw turf route who will be heard from down the road.. loaded with expensive well bred debuters..like the combination of class and win early pedigree on this one slightly better than others . the dpi on the dam sire is pretty high but believe most of his runners are at woodbine.. dam was a stakes winner.. nicely drawn in 4 post and mark case top trainer

bill mott firster wins and pays $47 (6-1 ml).. he's 5% with debuters overall... just goes to show imo that owners want to win first out with these types here whereas rest of the year doesn't matter that much.. mine came 3rd at 7-1

i know contessa terrible with turf horses and first time starters but he doesn't get to train many of this caliber and it is saratoga.. know I've seen the owners name many times over the years and sure he'd love to win 1st out.. cost 310k as a yearling by new sire animal kingdom.. dam has 1 winner from 2 starters and was a stakes winner

Interesting shot there Jbex. GL. Going with the #6 Emmport. Sired by Exchange Rate out of a Dynaformer mare. Like the workout pattern and Cox hitting 24% with first out turf.

yes he'd be my 2nd choice. .lots to like there but I'm swinging for the fences. .never bet horses who ran well in their first outing (2,4) or expensive clement firster (5) as those are too obvious for me..if they beat me (good chance they will) I'm ok with that..no regrets

Well Jbex The 5 won at 6/1. Not a bad price. 6 came in second. $60 exacta. I am a bit confused by your post. I guess you are looking for subtle things on paper that you feel justify taking a shot? That's all good but I think the name of the game is picking winners.

Just my thing but I will not play first time starters from pletcher,brown or clement because to me that's just too easy to do..I understand this one came home at a decent price but I'm picking in advance so no way for me to know that..I understand pletcher has this ridiculous record with odds on 2yo first time starters but outside of that just can't go the easy route in these types of races,no pun intended

luzzi 0/55 on the turf but this horse's numbers as good as any in here in turf sprints including missing by a nose here last year.. ships here off even effort in suffolk turf route. trainer metiver horrible also but he's hit at least with one bomb 2nd start with him as the trainer from 13 tries (2 overall)

btw just figure I'd mention ..75 race sample not nearly enough when you're chasing 12-1 avg odds..so whether I get close to even by catching some big ones or continue to struggle till the end nothing is proven..having a good time trying besides the horrendous results

and to be fair this result has little to do with bad racing luck..they're just not running
