for VT/MD, i like MD 78-70. that's actually my third plays

VT is short on players due to injuries, and lately they often end up playing passively on defense to avoid foul trouble because of their shallow bench. they tend to play up tempo against Maryland, and the Terps are an up tempo team this season. VT's defense lately is not what the numbers would indicate, but they have the offense to keep up with Maryland.Comment -

zulu, i use a few, which i think is a good idea to shop for lines and such (for example, making sure that got under 43' rather than 43 since it's dropping, comparing teasers). i use 5Dimes, Greek, Legendz and BetUS currently, planning to add matchbook. they all have their own merits. 5D is probably my favorite because i signed up for the reduced juice option (essential, imho; for example, i got the NYJ/PIT over at -103). Greek and 5D have a lot of CBB totals, which i like. Legendz has had some nice cash bonus offers lately. BetUS isn't as good as the others, but i've been using them for almost a decade, so i have a ton of loyalty points built up. i have heard people complain about BetUS being a pain for payouts, but i haven't had a problem. payouts from 5D, Greek, Legendz should never be a problem. i like Greek's website best, 5D's reduced juice best.
very important: for whatever reason, 5D is very squirrelly about bonuses. when you sign up, be sure that you (1) sign up for reduced juice option, and (2) confirm explicitly over the phone in the first 24 hours of your account that you have a free play bonus (and even if you confirm when setting up the account, apparently you have to re-confirm after the money has gone through - it's weird). i know people who have been screwed on both issues.
if you're going to sign up for online books, my advice would be to sign up for 2 or more so that you can get better lines without paying juice. just split what you were planning to deposit and send it 2 places. i use ** because i don't want credit card companies calling my wife to confirm that i want to buy a generator in the Phillipines (not that she has a problem with it, but it could encourage her to spend...). any book will credit your account with the ** fees. confirm all bonuses asap.Comment -

Greek, 5Dimes and Legendz, i can tell you deposit and withdrawal is not sweat there. if that's a concern, don't even consider BetUS (i never had a bad experience, but know others who have). any of SBR's A+ rated books should not be a problem there. if limits are an issue, go with Greek. as for depositing, in my experience, it's all the same 30-60 minute process. call and set up account, go to **, send money, call with control number and off you go. for withdrawals, there may be limits at each book as to how often you can make them (like, limiting to once a month or something).
imho, you should go with Greek and 5Dimes reduced juice. getting to play standard bets at -105, -103, -102 makes a huge difference over time, and you have to shop for lines. here's an example...Comment -

okay, thoughts on today's card, other that OSU/Illini at noon could be an outstanding watch? at first glance, Nova, A&M, Detroit, South Carolina could be worth a look. so could overs in Louisville/Providence, Kentucky/South Carolina, Southern Miss/SMU, Gonzaga/San Fran, BYU/CSU.
also, my general position is that i want to take as little road chalk as possible. it seems as if road chalk is death on Saturdays (esp in the Big Ten). Detroit is road chalk, but they're off loss at Cleveland State and will be ready to play.Comment -

Mark Turgeon is an excellent coach and will get his team back together in a big way at home after the terrible loss in Austin. The Aggies will do it with defense, particularly given how unsightly K State has been on offense of late. 3 of the last 4 meetings of these teams in College Station (last 2 were under Turgeon) have gone under, and the one that went over went over by 1.5. both teams went over 1H last game, and of late, K State hasn't been able to score against anyone other than Texas Tech and the scrubs they played in games with no lines or 20+ point lines. in games against real teams, KSU has been low-scoring. Turgeon will get the win with defense, which should get us two winners. A&M, 70-56 (1H A&M 31-24).Comment -
