we've all been hit in the head and had our equilibrium thrown off, but I don't think he would've had trouble recovering for the next round. Just my opinion.

I don't know, he looked out of it when he flopped to the ground. I doubt the refs know what the clock says but I thought Daley's arms were still up and he was trying to block those punches but he was definitely rocked. I agree that in a title fight you really want to give a fighter every possible chance. A couple more big shots and he may not have been able to get up and answer the bell. It could have went either way on the stoppage. He was definitely going to eat at least three more big punches before the bell.

That was a very good card overall w/ the exception of the BS draw. No way. first round 9-9 due to point ded., rd 2 and 3 were for sure 10-9 Gegard. If a judge is going to score every takedown, he should also give defensive credit to a fighter who scrambles and escapes w/out taking any damage.

I agree with some of this but I saw the draw coming mid way through 2nd round. Three take-downs + 1 point ded vs one semi flurry where it was hard to tell if Jardine was hurt. Total 10-8. Does that mean I think it should be a draw. NO. It's the bullshit 10 point must system. I'm getting angry just typing.

The Daley stoppage was bullshit. Nate flopped to the ground earlier and was lying face down flat taking damage and no stoppage. But that's Strikeforce for you, I've always thought they have groomed fighters. More Herschel anyone?

The Ref should stop the fight no matter what the time says on the clock. That can't be factored in at all. The Ref's job is to protect a fighter not decide if he should let someone take extra damage because there is just a little time left.

Diaz was hurt but never out of it or not defending himself. Daley was out on his feet after a hook from Diaz. He was falling over and the only thing holding him up was Diaz. As Diaz moved away, Daley couldn't stay on his feet and tumbled. His arms were flailing and he was in lala land just taking punches on the ground. After it was stopped, he had to be helped to the stool by 2 people and still had no idea what was going on. Legit stoppage.

I agree with this assessment. When a fighter goes to the ground like Daley did with kind of limp arms and dead legs, he is definitely in trouble. He then took at least two clean big shots on the ground and would have taken a couple more. You know damn well that the big mouth hothead would have been the loudest complainer about the stoppage had he not been so out of it. Instead he sat there on his stool completely dazed. The only people really bitching are the people who had money on Daley.
