At the UFC 122 Rogan said Rampage was training hard for this after coming into the Evans fight in bad shape. Not sure if that will matter much vs Machida

Speaking of virtuoso wrestlers that will win this Saturday, this beast Falcao screams gas hog. I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Gerry as a prospect.Comment -

#74Probably not been much talk on Harris because he's a big favourite at -300. But you're right, "Big Rig" does look like he may have cardio issues if it goes past the 1st round. He also seems to usually fight at light-heavy and heavyweight so is going to be cutting a lot of weight. So with a big weight cut combined with the fact that he hasnt been past the 1st round since 2008 and not past the 2nd round since he got TKO'd by Maldonado in 2007 = high chance of him gassing and getting KO'd or TKO'd in second or third round unless he can get an early sub or TKO but Harris should have the movement and takedown defence to prevent Falcao from getting him down. I'll probly be taking Harris by TKO/KO at +150 or better. Falcao has been TKO'd by Daniel Ludtke who has a record of 5-6 but did redeem that loss last year. Only other losses have been to Maldonado but none of his wins were against anybody with impressive records. He looks like a Wanderlei Silva mould fighter who just goes guns blazing straight away.Last edited by Vaughany; 11-14-10, 04:35 PM.Comment -

#77MUNOZ/SIMPSON: My biggest hunch for Simpson comes from Munoz' inability to deliver. Munoz made Hamill look like Machida in the stand-up, he looked like shit against Grove and was only saved by Grove looking shittier, and his last fight was an all-around embarrassment. Holding a leg the whole time?
I understand Okami's a tough vet and a good wrestler, but I saw no plan B from Munoz. Which leads me to think: will he ever have a plan B? I just don't see the wrestling credentials translate into the cage and I don't think I'll ever be confident that his striking can supplement when in need.
Granted, Simpson hasn't looked the best, either. Both have tough chins (that get hit more than they should) and questionable cardio. The difference to me is that I think Simpson's wrestling and striking is just a notch above Munoz'.Comment -

#78some of those picks are grenades, bro
People also don't understand that there are different types in each discipline, and that being a champion in a martial art is absolutely not going to transfer to MMA. Take Munoz or Ishii or even Monson for example. Munoz and Monson are point scorers, and Ishii used his brute strength and grip to overpower everybody in the olympics. If you are expecting amazing double legs from Munoz flying armbars from Monson or Uchi Matas from Ishii, then you are going to be very disappointed.Last edited by Poppa Catfish; 11-14-10, 07:19 PM.Comment -

#83Some pretty horrible odds have come out on paddypower for prop bets...my worst nightmare may have come true that paddy have realised that a lot more fights go to decision then their odds wer suggesting!
They've got Machida by decision at -110, Rampage by KO at +450 (which is reasonable), Sotiropolous by decision at +125, Sot/Lauzon to go the distance at -162.5, Penn/Hughes to go distance at -150, Hughes on points at +225. I was hoping and expecting Machida by dec to be +150, Sot by dec +175, and the fight to go distance bets -120 or better. Any props available for these fights on any of the US books yet...how do they compare?? I'm gonna wait until Skybet release their props which should be slightly better before laying anything down.Comment -

#88I hope Rampage can at least put on a good showing, he's looked like shiiit in 3 of his last 4. Griffin/Jardine/Evans, only good fight in his last 4 was the KO over Wandy, and Wandy ain't the fighter he used to be eitherComment -

#92That's extremely unlikely since the lines have already been moving and staying fairly close. It would take a significant amount of money to change the line even to -300.
Also does anyone know if BJ is really at only 165?Comment -

#100According to latest video on BJPENN.com he is somewhere between 165.8 and 170lbs currently. He weighs himself with Burt Watson on the official scales that they use at weigh-ins and Burt says that he is 170lbs, then BJ is surprised as he says when he weighed himself earlier he was more like 165.8. Burt implies that the scale used by the comission isnt exactly right but whatever it says you go by as he says "whatever the scale say that's what you go with! Pretty much implies that the official weigh-ins arent so 'official' afterall!Last edited by Vaughany; 11-16-10, 04:39 PM.Comment -

#101ha Immediately after I posted that the odds came out on bookmaker. Barboza at -500 unfortunately, was expecting -300! Hallman at +195, I'd jump on that straight away, expect it to come down to +125 by fight time, unfortunately by the time Pinnacle release their lines I expect him to be at +125 to +150 range on there also
