Dude its truly incredible...

I've only been to Krakow and worclaw, but Poland's a little gem in europe that turned out to be my favorite destination (I've been to many places and cities in Europe too over the course of 2 different long backpacking trips, as far east as Belurussia, so I really mean it when I say poland has turned out to be my favorite country there).

Its not just the women either, EXCELLENT food that's fairly cheap, best vodka ever (zubrowka still the only vodka I can drink str8 on the rocks), beautiful cities, incredible yet sad history, lovely culture.

The only thing I didn't like were the local guys were kind of haters. I really tried ot be humble and polite, not the typical dumb ass partying american, but they still were pretty cold and rude to me... Only a few warmed up and seemed chill after hanging with them at a club / bar for a few hours... One guy slapped me in the face for flirting with his girl (yes I got bitch slapped by a giant Pollock and I took it haha won't lie I was scurrred)..

Another thing I noticed is they're a somewhat racist / anti-semetic culture... Lots of anti-jewish graffitii everywhere ...my friend and I snuck into the Plaszow concentration camp / commandant house from the move 'shindler's list' and we were yelled at by the neighbors living near it and saw anti-jewish stars of david graffitti everywhere, it was pretty shocking considering both Jew and non-jew poles suffered more than any other group in WWII, if anything you'd think they'd be the most anti-racist / fascist / nazi country in Europe but there is a lot of support for anti-semits and racists I noticed...

Those were the only two negatives, everything else was very special to me and unlike anything I've seen elswhere, I have really considered moving there as their is a good market for native english speakers to teach schools there...

haha Im not there, and one of the reasons is because of what you allude to about Polish not liking Brits cos we jus use their country for stag piss-ups as we call them (or bachelor parties for y'all)...its funny because they dont like us in their country yet we have Poles in every town and city in England now living off benefits, not tht I give a shiit as I've never had a bad encounter with one in England! A couple of England fans got beat up outside a bar in Lodz yesterday actually...apparently a load of Lodz soccer hooligans just attacked the bar out of nowhere. Knowing my luck me and my buddies would be the ones who'd be amongst it! If the Euros were ever in Croatia or sumwer like tht I'd def go, but not to the more hardcore former Soviet countries like Poland, Serbia, Ukraine etc...
I've only been to Czech Republic in Eastern Europe, been to Teplice and Prague twice, women wer pretty hot but I may have to check out Poland after the recommendation u jus gave on the females!

I imagine tickets cost a lot, I dont have tickets for Olympics either, the way they did the ticket allocation was a shambles...u had to register online then pay up front a certain amount and be assigned tickets for random events. So u could only put a preference for what u want and weren't guaranteed. I though **** tht, I dont wanna end up with synchronised swimming and fuccking equestrian or some shiitt (which is exactly what happened to my workmate!) I'd only be interested in the martial arts and table tennis probably! I'll probably be in Marbella, Spain for a couple of weeks during it as well

lol tht's what u need when u go to countries like tht - a rich girl with good English...u did well there! And yeah, although I didnt have any issues as such in Prague, the people are as u say generally cold and not helpful with anything. I remember we asked a randomer once on tht main strip where a museum or something was and they said we'd have to pay them for the directions! Made me lol! Best thing about Prague for me was the Prague Pub Crawl...met some awesome people on that including a Nigerian dude he was one of the guides who I still stay in touch with now. Also met some decent American birds, ended up hooking up with a girl from Louisiana...turned out she was a lot younger than I thought tho (but still legal)! The crawl ended up at like 2 or 3am at the biggest club in Europe Karlovy Lazne which u probably went to (along the river next to Charles Bridge I think)? Had some epic post hangover strolls along tht bridge and up to the castle...really cool place.

Ryanair/Easyjet/BMI etc... aren't as cheap as used to be. They've added loads of random taxes and shiit. I was in South of Holland last wknd for Pinkpop Festival to see Linkin Park, The Cure, Mumford and Sons, Springsteen, Rival Sons, Soundgarden, Chase & Status...return flights ended up being £150 from Birmingham to Amsterdam. Would of been cheaper to get the Eurostar direct to South of Holland for £100 but needed to meet buddies in Amsterdam. Was awesome festival, near a place called Maastricht which is on border of Holland in between Belgium and Germany...oldest town in Holland and possibly Europe and a university town...amazing how many hot chicks were there going around on bikes! Unfortunately they are starting to stop sale of weed to none residents in Holland now...starting with Maastricht at beginning of May...just my luck! So we couldnt get weed anywhere...even at the festival they were doing full body checks on every person as u went in and police wer everywhere. They are even planning to do same in Amsterdam at end of year which will have a big effect on economy. I have been going Amsterdam at least once a year...one of my favourite places...gonna be a shame to see it ruined. Other than that I mainly just go to South of Spain every year to my buddies villa in Marbella, and sometimes go Egypt (went last November) and went Cancun for spring break. Def wanna go Croatia tho, best beaches in Europe apparently and some awesome beach festivals. Vegas and LA are top of my list tho for next big trip, possibly end of year or beginning of next!

yeah, I actually read or heard something the other day where they were saying that the Ukrainians and Polish (and other countries tht suffered in past) are surprisingly racist because the people have had to bond together over the past few decades and fight off so much that they have formed such a tight nationalistic attitude that now anybody who is not them is deemed inferior.
