#457Originally posted by JIBBBYShag Chiesa wasn't even fighting the hands and Chiesa's hands were ready to tap and floating.... That choke was under the chin and the body triangle was in as well..
Watch it closely as I even think the ref made the right call... I don't care what everyone is saying on the UFC panel.. That choke was deep and Chiesa was a second or two away from tapping or going out..
I know my money was on Lee but I'm not being Bias here.. I'll call it as I see it win or lose..
Chiesa was done.. Ref could have let him go out though..Comment -

#458lol people saying chiesa was done 100% when literally 2 fights before herrig had a full blown rear naked choke and the girl got out... and he was clearly fighting the hands hence Lee changing his grip on the choke
it was highly highly likely he was going to finish him there but thats not the point, he didnt tap and he didnt go lights out.... so the ref was wrongComment -

Mike was ready to tap out or go unconscious. I've watched the replay 20 times and Chiesa was finished.
Phantom/Fake tap and then he complained about the stoppage. Lee was the clear winner.

#462yup every mma analyst and fighter saying it was BS must have an invalid opinion
watch the herrig fight again her opponent almost tapped multiple times ,joke of a referee
like i said Lee was probably going to finish the fight but its irrelevant he didnt tap or go out , not a hard concept to grabComment -

When a fighter goes from fighting a choke to noodle hands, you can't blame the ref for thinking he might be out.Comment -

#467Originally posted by KermitThe only one who got robbed is Kevin Lee, because he didn't get to properly finish Mike Chiesa. And now he'll have to hear the excuses about an early stoppage until they have a rematch.
if you ever rolled youd know people can get out of that position , its a hail mary but theres still a chance and he got that taken away from him early ... mario yamasaki is dogshit im not sure what youre even trying to debate? Kevin Lee probably would have won but he landed illegal blows and won without a tap or finish aka garbage...

#474Grinded out a tiny profit of +2.09u between pre-bets and multi-event parlays. Glad to end up in the black after Horcher and Martin failed to cover the points spreads early. Would have been a much bigger night if Horcher had won the third round as I had Horcher -3.5 in multiple parlays where all other legs won.Comment -

#480not gonna read all the threads here but will say this. Time for Dana to step in and demand BJ retire like he did with Liddel. He knocks Siver down. Does nothing on top but throw a few punches when Siver first fell, and he gassed himself out? I thought Siver looked pretty decent for being off the roids this fight but did he look good cause BJ was that bad? I thought BJ had money and his family was rich. Why would he possibly still want to fight? He has nothing left.Comment -

You're wrong about Chiesa though.. Lee was destroying him and would have choked him into unconsciousness if the ref let it go.. He was done.. I don't care what he says either... #484Well, lost $400 on Bellator the night before and won around $400 on this UFC event.. Funny how that worked out.. This weekend of MMA was pretty much a wash for me.. I'll take it after being down from the Bellator event.. I get thru this weekend untouched basically..
Was hit and miss all night with this event but closed out strong with the Boetsch KO prop and Kevin Lee straight wins.. Siver over BJ was big also..

#486Originally posted by DemonataYou obviously have never fought or trained in mma. I've even learned that while I've trained. First you fight the hands and if they adjust wirk on moving your body to make the choke a little lose then make his arms gas out.if they have to adjust then it usually means you can handle the choke so you ride it out. I'm not a big chiesa fan and was not even able to bet the fight since I was in jail. There's no rule that your hands are not allowed to dangle. Also its mma and chiesa has been in worse positions. Anyone that believes the refs stoppage was valid obviously don't know the rules of the referee.
Ref could have let it go but the result would have been the same.. Look when Lee chinches the hands and then really begins to squeeze that choke right before the stoppage. That was tight and under the chin.. He wasn't getting out of that..Comment -
